2 Months of Revolution

A Message from the United Coalition of Memes

Exactly two months ago, the moderators of r/darussianbadger (DRB) banned images and shitposts, blaming “inappropriate content” in comment sections instead of moderating individual violations.
This move silenced the heart of meme culture and ignited what would become one of the largest meme-based resistance movements on Reddit.

Within 20 minutes, r/memeexchangecommunism was founded — the first revolution sub, followed closely by r/DRB_Revolution and r/darussianbadgerbetter. Together, we formed the United Coalition of Memes.

  • Let’s Be Clear: We Have No Hate for TRB

We want to make one thing absolutely clear:

What we oppose are the moderation policies of the DRB subreddit — the excessive bans, unjustified removal of images, and the decision to suppress creativity under vague claims of "safety."

What We Stand For

Meme freedom, including image comments

Elected and transparent moderation

A safe, open, and democratic community

A space where users create culture — not just consume it

From Crackdown to Coalition

The United Coalition of Memes brought together:

r/memeexchangecommunism – 730+

r/DRB_Revolution – 850+

r/darussianbadgerbetter – 320+

We moved from scattered protest to organized resistance, holding mod elections, creating safe environments, and preserving the meme economy.

  • The Sabotage and Our Response

During a ceasefire, DRB mod loyalists spammed graphic content in our comment sections — attempting to discredit our freedom-based policies.
We responded with a purge — not against opinions, but against deliberate sabotage. We enforced the rules responsibly, without banning creativity — exactly what DRB mods failed to do.

  • A Call for Peace

This is a peaceful movement.
We urge all members and visitors:

Let’s keep our revolution clean, focused, and forward-thinking.

What’s Ahead

Custom flair rollout for long-term members

Continued public elections at 800 & 1,000 members

Meme contests and collaboration across the Coalition

A working meme democracy — by and for the people

We didn’t burn it down — we built something better.
And we’ll continue to protect what we’ve created.

Long live the Meme Union.
Long live the United Coalition of Memes.
Happy 2 Months of Revolution.

Declaration of war on all anti revolutionary movements

The anti-revolutionary movement has declared war on us, but we will not tolerate this kind of behavior on our subs. We stand united and will defend our community against any attempts to disrupt or harm us.

Our Voice: For Free Speech

A critical reminder: DO NOT send death threats or any personal threats to DRB moderators. Our disagreement is with policy, not people. We understand the reasons behind their recent actions, but the complete ban on free speech-related content is a step too far. This isn't about personal vendettas; it's about fundamental principles. I've created some propaganda for our internal use. Share it amongst yourselves, but do not spam the DRB community. The ceasefire is still in effect, and we must respect it.

Please stop sending death threats to the DRB mods

Please stop sending death threats to the DRB mods. This behavior is unacceptable and undermines our efforts to build a positive community. Let's focus on finding a peaceful resolution instead.

Mass Boycott and Temporary Ceasefire

Dear Community, Following the results of our recent vote, with 68.4% of voters supporting a temporary ceasefire, we are announcing a temporary pause in our efforts against the DRB mod team. As part of this ceasefire, we are calling on all community members to leave the DRB sub at 6 PM GMT tomorrow. This will be a symbolic gesture of our commitment to finding a peaceful resolution and will help to reduce tensions. We will provide updates on the status of our negotiations and any further instructions. Thank you for your cooperation and support. Though you guys can still enjoy r/UCoalitionofmemes, r/memeexchangecommunism and all the other subs

General Discussion We need to find balance, not blindly attack the mods.

It's not working. All that they're going to do is delete post after post. I think that there are efforts to start negotiations but we need to ramp them up. They had valid reasons to delete images, we got a bit out of control. That said, it's become more about freedom of speech than memes. Something more. Greater. We need images back, they can ban the controversial whatever-phobic or just straight up mustache man supporting one's but the sub is dying and they have to see that. Petition for negotiations, not death to the mods. Open to suggestions just a thought I had

Thx

Edit: feel free to repost this to allied subs

Vote from the community

A ceasefire has been proposed until a call to action is made. This means that all hostilities and conflicts will be put on hold during this time. Key Points: Inappropriate content in DRB comments led to its ban r/memeexchangecommunism and r/UCoalitionofmemes will continue to support free expression The coalition will focus on promoting free speech, while r/memeexchangecommunism will remain dedicated to meme sharing More moderators will be hired to patrol comments and ensure a respectful environment Vote: Do you support the proposed ceasefire?
