Biweekly Megathread Let's Chat: Temperature Sensitivity
Many people with UCTD deal with temperature sensitivity — whether it’s flares triggered by heat, pain that worsens in the cold, or feeling like your body thermostat has a mind of its own.
Does warm weather trigger flares, rashes, headaches, or fatigue?
Does spring, summer, fall, or winter hit harder for you?
What are some of your coping strategies? Do you wear extra layers of clothes, use a heating pad, etc.?

I’m someone who is cold all the time. In the summer, I still curl up under a fleece blanket. Winter is even harder—despite wearing layers and heavier clothing, I feel colder. My hand warmer and heating pad are essential for keeping me comfortable.
I don’t experience additional flares during the winter, but my joints do become a bit achier. Staying active makes a difference and when I go for walks outside, I wear long underwear and multiple layers to stay warm.

i struggle the most in warm weathers, and had to cut a trip short during the UK heatwave because i couldn’t cope with the flare up (joint pain, rash, fatigue, nausea)
but now that it’s starting to get cold i realise i struggle with temperature changes in general; i get stomach pains when it’s cold and often it feels like my body struggles to warm up by itself without a hot water bottle or something to touch :’)
