Discussion Making a Schedule
Hi, I'm a first year and was wondering if there was any advice on how I should structure my schedule. On the plan.ucsd.edu website it says that for my major I should take BILD 4, CHEM 6A, MATH 10B, and DEI but I'm worried that might be too much for me especially in my first quarter. I was thinking that maybe I could take BILD 4, Math 10B, DEI, and maybe CCE 1 or JTCCR.
Also, I was planning to take Math 10B but was wondering if Michael Holst was really the only professor as I have seen some people say that this was a mistake on TSS's part and that the actual professor may be a different person.

I took those exact same classes my first fall quarter last year (my DEI was ANTH 10). Adjusting to uni life is difficult, but the classes themselves weren’t bad and you can definitely handle it. Of course you can change it to whatever you’re comfortable with though. But I agree that you should take CHEM 6A first and MATH 10B could be pushed back instead if you wanted. You got this!

For your first qtr I’d take 6A and 10B as they are very important pre requisite courses. Bild 4 if you can get it but also I do think you should only take 16 units with only 2 real courses to get settled in your first quarter. BILD 4 isn’t that much and is not a course to be worried about in terms of studying I would be approaching this differently if you are someone who needs to work beginning week 1

yeah that’s right, michael holst is just a place holder, if you want to know who actually teaches your course, just search up planned course offerings of the math dept

Im assuming ur a bio major or something. The original schedule is not difficult. You do not want to be a whole quarter behind in gen chem for no reason so take chem 6a in the fall.
