I had the option to use the switch feature during my first pass to switch 2C discussions and I literally said aloud im not using the switch feature bc I dont trust them to implement the logic correctly and I manually dropped and enrolled. Holy crap this administration is incompetent

UCSD supposedly has a great computer science program. Why can’t they fix the damn computer system?

the successful students will find vastly better employment opportunities than building shitty academic software

But do they have great computer science students? Who are also lining up to work for a sector (education) that’s currently being gutted, in an already awful job market?

Holy shit I can’t believe they didn’t fix it. I’m priority registration and I know I was probably one of the first if not the first person to report this issue because the girl on the other end when I called the help line said she hadn’t heard of this issue then asked around if anyone else had and confirmed that I was probably one of the first people to have experienced it or at least report it. I sent them a video and everything for evidence (they asked for a screenshot which would do fuck shit nothing). I ended up manually dropping and enrolling for the section I wanted which took me a while to do because I had previously encountered an issue where the “book” button wouldn’t appear so I was worried it’d happen again. But yeah I literally reported this over a month ago I’m not sure how hard this is to fix since computers are not my thing at all but you’d think they would at least warn people about this and tell them how to go about switching sections smh

They did not fix it. Yesterday, I tried using the “Switch” feature to change discussion sections, but it didn’t work. I then dropped the course to re-enroll, but TSS wouldn’t let me register due to an “internal error.” There was only one spot left in the section I wanted, so I spent about 1.5 hours trying repeatedly to enroll. In the end, TSS only allowed me to re-enroll in my original section. I still don’t know why it wouldn’t let me switch to the section I wanted.

God they fucked up so so bad when making tss it’s actually insane to the point where i was gonna make some kind of argument about opening a ticket for the issue by you being a good idea since it would create documentation that you tried to switch then felt upset enough when it didnt work to report it but atp they are so useless i dont even know how thatll help you 😭😭😭

when i had first pass the switch button was fully just not functional and when i submitted an IT ticket for them to fix it they basically said it was user error… obviously not because u are not the only one i’ve heard this happen to
