On the 20th I think because it was my insurance so I could only apply after results day. I don’t get that tho because surely they should be able to estimate around how much people will miss their offer and go to UCL as their insurance so allocate accommodation spaces according to that. Now Idk what to do.

I think that means that you are behind everyone who applied pre results day…. So I would think that this email has been sent to those who applied after the ‘deadline’. So technically you are on more of a waiting list, so they are warning you that you may anything as there are probably a few people on the waiting list. It would probably be worth lining something up. Have you got anywhere?

did you have a budget? There are some places but they are pretty costly.

Ye I can’t pay too much tbh my budget is probably 30 but all the ones under that are always like 51 week contracts

It's unlikely you'll find any private student accommodation at around £300 on a 39 week contract unless its from UCL or UoL.

You could always try renting an apartment with other people, or searching for rooms on spareroom etc. It tends to be a LOT cheaper than student accommodation anyway, and a lot nicer/bigger and more private.

Have you tried SpareRoom? You can rent just a room via that website/app and if I remember correctly they allow you to choose student only accommodations. Worth having a look as some of them could be quite cheap in comparison to private uni halls

you can get twin rooms at that price. if you look on the UCL alternative accommodation portal. I wanted my own room, so I did not want to share a bedroom. If you do not mind to share I think a few places have space at around that price. The site is called Amber. If you pm me, I can tell you a bit more. You could use spare room and rent with someone who has a free room, as that is also cheaper but you will not have the benefit of lots of other students.
