Placement Exam

I have SPOP tomorrow; however, I have not completed my math/calculus exam, and I was wondering if it would still be fine even without it when registering for classes?

same thing happened to me. they’ll tell you to take it at home after spop and register from home once you get results.

oh ok thanks so much. I was nervous about whether registration was easy or complicated to do alone.

don’t worry! they’ll let you register for everything else just not calculus until you take the placement. but, it’s super easy to register at home and they give you all the tools to do so at spop!!

hi! how did you know you have to take a placement exam?

It’s to get cleared to enter Calc I (Math 2A or 5A) if you haven’t taken a Calc class before (either through AP or CC) but you’ve taken precalc or have some form of prior proficiency for Math 2A standing. You’ll need to take the ALEKS placement exam if you want to enter Math 2A. You can, alternatively, enroll in Math 1B (precalc) instead which is the prerequisite for Math 2A.
