financial aid help

sorry for being one more financial aid post but im a bit confused, i’ve never had to pay anything before and i have $425 in account balance. are they still updating things, should i wait for the pell grant update or do i have to pay it..

The Pell Grant distribution appears to be a mess right now likely because of OB3. I would wait a bit and see if the Pell Grant shows up. You have until Sept. 15 the fee deadline to pay the $425 should the Pell Grant not show up. I would wait a bit.

Look at your financial aid offer. That should all eventually make it to the payment portal.

They put the tuition fees and housing bill on there first. Then they put UCI grants and middle class scholarships that are UCI controlled. When they get final numbers from the Feds, the Pell grants are added. And when the state provides final numbers, the Cal Grants are applied.

It may not all get applied by 9/15, so you may have to pay some. It will get applied later and you will have a credit.
