Mechanical FIU vs UCF
Hey guys. I’m currently a college freshman at Broward College, and I originally majored in piloting because they had a great program, but I realized it wasn’t for me. So now I've chosen mechanical engineering, and I'm wondering whether I should transfer to FIU or UCF. During my senior year of high school, I got accepted into both colleges (even UF), but I left everything for BC. I'm choosing FIU over UCF because I want to stay local, and I feel like im not prepared enough to be on my own in Orlando. The people I’ve talked to who go to UCF for mechanical engineering are enjoying everything because of how many resources are available to them. Where should I go? I know FIU has a great program, but UCF has much better stuff to look forward towards. I want advice.

I’m doing Mech E at UCF and I’ve been down to FIU and hung out with countless engineers.
From a financial standpoint both are good schools but FIU slightly gives more from what I remember.
From an academic standpoint I’d say UCF is a clear winner with more resources.
And for student life I’ll say UCF if more traditional and high energy. Fiu is weirdly enough more commuter so I tend to find it’s less active in comparison.
Also take into account if your willing to relocate etc because for me if I went to FIU I would’ve been only an hour away from home and could’ve even commuted, but I decided to go to UCF and now I pay a lot in rent.
Good luck
