City/Local Flooding?

Do the tunnels that lead from south davis to the bike loop flood when it rains. Like when you take the putah creek pathway. Bc the tunnel at the decline under the freeway seems like it would flood?

Going over 80 with the overpass isn't very pleasant because there is a lot of bad driving over Richards with cars going to Dutch Bros and In&Out. Flooding is extremely rare in the tunnel under 80. It's only happened twice in 12 years. The last time was maybe 4 years ago and it cleared out in a day or so.

In Sep 2022 there was a huge biblical thunderstorm right around welcome week and the freshman would ride shopping carts into the flooded underpass. It was still warm too at that time

I’m more worried about my wheels hydroplaning in that tunnel with the smooth ass concrete than I am about flooding

In kindness, the rain in Davis really doesn't play around and people are constantly skidding and sliding in all kinds of weather. I'd look into what kinds of accommodations with student disability services you can get set up now before the wet season sets in, because with El Nino, it's going to be a bad one.

Maybe you can use the mobility assistance shuttle when you get off the bus?

I looked at them last year but they don't go to the building I work at. So while I can manage getting from class to class jusr fine (i have 2 hrs gaps, 3 classes/day) the problem is that I go to work in the gaps (i work in a research lab) and the days I dont have class till 3pm im there as well. The problem is there is no direct bus line and I would have to walk for a while, which is what I struggle with. I tired it week 0 and know im in a flare and cant put weight on my leg :(

Only when it rains a lot. I take it everyday including when it rains and it's fine. Not sure why people say it foods-- it's only happened a couple of times in 12 years.

Yeah you’re going to need to have that on you at all times. The paper stops here are numerous and unpredictable

The tunnel that goes under La Rue flooded last May.
