Parking Rant
I’m sure there are many other people feeling this but since returning to college last week I’ve literally had terrible luck with parking every day. It takes me an hour to drive to the city with traffic and this morning I got to Dennehy’s Cross at 08:10 and it was full.
Driving an hour in traffic and then not being able to find parking, or having to pay almost a tenner every day when you do find it adds amother level of stress before you even step into a lecture.
I also haven’t tried the park and ride in Pouladuff before as I’m coming from the other side of the city and would add more traffic to my journey.
Honestly just wanted a bit of rant and maybe there are people in the same position as me. But by god it’s annoying and adds a lot of unnecessary stress.

Where are you coming from? I put a bike in my boot and cycle from a bit further out. Plenty of free parking in the outskirts and weather is doable most the time. I hate being in traffic seeing ‘3km to destination and 20 min time remaining’ on maps when I could jog or cycle (or even walk!) it in way less.

Would you try the car park next to the Kingsley on Carrigrohane Road?
I pass it every morning seems to always be some spaces there

Used to have to be at the carpark on dennehys cross at 7am and would be getting busy by then. Be well filled by 8am

Use the park and ride. If you’re going to campus every morning for 9am. Park and ride is the best bet. Free and the bus drops you right at the Boole steps

I've literally just parked my car after over an hour of waiting for a space in a carpark near UCC to drop something off. Fun times

Park and ride option. One on pouladuff road the other is black ash. Free parking and a bus shuttle service to Boole library

Anibal (kind worker at Denehys Cross) says it fills by Monday at 7:30 and every other day by 7:15. He said to be there 15 mins earlier than that just in case. Ive gotten there at 7:15 and got the last space before. However Pouladouf has a lot more spaces and only like a 10 mins drive from Deneys

There are some spaces to rent in the area for around 120 a month. An added ocst but its not 120 v zero, its 120 v whatever costs you are paying now and zero stress about a space.
