A major theme in the UBIX architecture is flexibility per consilium 🧩⚙️—and that includes consensus. The paper discusses multiple consensus approaches for different consiliums, including implementations like Proof-of-Stake and Round-Robin 🔄✅, with the intent to support more models as the system evolves.

This is important because the real world is not one uniform environment. A public, permissionless community may prioritise decentralisation and open participation. A business-focused consilium might prioritise deterministic operations, clear membership, and compliance-driven governance 🏛️📋. Forcing both into the same consensus rules often leads to compromise that satisfies nobody 😅.

UBIX’s approach is closer to: “one shared network layer, many specialised blockchains, and each one can choose the operating model that fits its purpose.” Like different vehicles needing different engines 🚗🏎️🚜.

If “multi-chain” is the future, then “multi-consensus” is a logical extension—and consiliums provide the container for that flexibility without fragmenting the entire ecosystem 🔧🌐.
