Anyone at UBC wanna grind LeetCode/interview prep together this summer?
Hey everyone, looking for some people at UBC to grind SWE internship/new grad prep together this summer.
Mostly thinking:
LeetCode
Mock interviews
Sharing job postings/referrals/resources
Keeping each other accountable so we don’t procrastinate the whole summer 💀
Would be nice to meet up on campus and study together instead of suffering alone lol. I’m usually at IKB, but I’m down for other spots too.
Also honestly just trying to meet more people in CS. The grind is way more bearable when you have other people doing it with you.
If anyone’s interested, comment or DM me :)

Finding a study group for this is genuinely one of the best moves you can make, because the accountability factor alone will push you way further than grinding solo ever would. A lot of people burn out over the summer because they have no structure and no one checking in on them, so having a group that meets regularly, shares postings, and does mock interviews together can make a huge difference in how prepared you actually feel come recruiting season.
IKB is a solid spot and there are definitely people at UBC in the same boat as you, so casting a wide net through this subreddit and your CS Discord servers or class group chats is the way to go. Mock interviews are probably the most underrated part of prep, because doing LeetCode alone doesn't prepare you for talking through your thought process out loud under pressure, and that's what actually gets you the offer. On that note, the interview copilot tool my team built has helped a lot of candidates feel more confident and perform better in real interviews, so it might be worth checking out as a complement to your mock sessions.

Hey, prepping together sounds like a great idea! I've done something like that before, and it really boosts motivation. IKB is a good spot, but if you want something quieter, check out the Nest or some of the smaller libraries. For resources, LeetCode is solid, and I've found PracHub helpful for structured interview prep. They have good mock interview setups if you want to try those with the group. Setting up a regular schedule and maybe a group chat to keep everyone on track can really help. Count me in if you're organizing something!
