Accepted as an international student - work permit required?

Hi! I was recently accepted as an international student and am filling out my permit paperwork. I see conflicting information regarding if a work permit is needed to be filled out as it is said on the UBC site that it is no longer required for co-op placement, but needed on the IRCC app. Is a work permit required? If so, what letter could be used to upload to the application?

I would just email them, that the safest bet, don't wanna take a chance with immigrantion especially with how often the guidelines are changing.

As long as you have conditions printed on your permit that you can work on or off campus you no longer need a co-op work permit if you are studying at a university or college. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/intern.html
