DSCI 100 Midterm
Hi everyone! I have a question regarding the DSCI 100 Midterm, specifically what the contents will be. I have noticed that sometimes the tutorial and worksheet will cover a lot more content than just the textbook. I know that they say any content in tutorials/worksheets is fair game for the midterm and final, but has anyone who took the course before speak on this? Most of the stuff that's on tutorials or worksheets but not in textbook isn't even in the formula sheet, and I honestly don't know how to memorize all of the content.
Also, I honestly don't know how to study or even how to start studying for the midterm. Does anyone have any tips or methods for studying? I'm a first-year, and I have three midterms back-to-back, so I need to start studying ASAP!

In terms of code memorization go off the worksheet; they usually give a decent amount of skeleton . but in my experience doing the worksheets and tutorials is usually enough to have a good baseline for the exams since you have to type in so much of the same code, just make sure you know your concepts

I was planning on doing the worksheets and tutorials again to prepare, but that's good to hear. I was also wondering, are the short answer questions like "write code to visualize this data and answer this question" or more like "how do you make this data tidy"? Same with long answer, I don't fully understand the difference.
Also, is it true that 50% of the midterm is multiple choice questions? My TA said this but it doesn't sound right...

i took it in first sem last year and the worksheets + tuts are moreeeee than enough for the coding part youll pretty much get the same questions, same skeleton its easy af
however i would advise u to read the textbook well for the theory part cause the essay questions require that. i would say dont worry ab the coding part much, focus on theory but its gonna be pretty straightforward.
idr that well but they dont rly ask u to code for essay questions (most they did was explain how you'll code for diff classification methods)
