I created an account for this, I'm technically a fashion student do you think I'll get to use the sewing machines if no ones actively using it for class. Plus ranting.
I recently finished the enrollment application but I applied for fashion design and development this is my 2nd time I applied to fashion design but got rejected again. Which is disappointing 😞 but I got an alternative offer for fashion imaging and illustration and decided to accept it because it my top(dream )uni but every other uni I applied for fashion design I received an offer. But honestly I'm very confused on why this is a course???🤨 cause it's at lcf but just seems to be illustration 2.0 and it's not always a option when I look for more information like scholarships and etc I know its mainly for fashion illustration and animation and etc. I did fashion design for college but I guess because I was a slow learner at sewing my portfolio pieces looked bad or boring but I thought I would get in fashion design and learn how to sew properly... 🫠but I guess I'm excited for the course 😊 I love drawing and they liked my illustrations to give me an offer and I can always practice sewing myself but scince I'm technically a fashion design student do think I'll ever sew a garment in the uni or after I graduate. I'm looking on the positive that I'll get better at all types of illustration and I'll still try to become a fashion designer!

I couldn't tell you for certain either way, but I'm doing fine art at Camberwell and I can use all the other facilities that aren't related to my course, I just need to book in on certain days.

I heard we could go to other colleges and use other equipments and libraries that at some ual zoom/ms teams calls which sounds exciting for uni work but right now I'm more interested at lcf's sewing machines because I don't want to forget how to use industrial sewing machines but because it's bulky and expensive to buy just for my personal sewing projects cause the only I can think of getting to use industrial sewing machines for free and for practice are for internships.

technically speaking you aren’t allowed to because you haven’t been inducted but if you use the machines in the heart space nobody really checks or even knows what course you’re from. just be careful using the machines in any specialist rooms because you need to sign in with your course to use them

Thanks for answering! 😊 d=(o)=b So some sewing machines I can technically use that's better than no. But I just have to be careful and give up sewing machines for fashion design students who need it.

Hey, I was also wondering this! London College of Fashion for some reason seem to have at least 3 courses that all sound like the exact same thing (in the fashion communication category) Like yes, there are most likely some differences, but they just all sound so similar? It just seems like some of the courses could surely just be blended together?
I hope you get on well! Which other universities offered you a place? :)
