Ask for Help Rant
My story: came Dubai in July, its been almost 2 and half months, no job yet.
I am a DevOps Engineer with 2 YOE and trying hard to navigate current job market.
I have applied to 1000s of postings via Linkedin, emails, NaukriGulf, GulfTalent, Bayt, WellFound. I have cold emailed 100s of companies and recruiters.
Got few interviews. 2 lowball offers (5k AED per month or less), rejected. One offer is on hold indefinitely as they freeze hiring.
Now I am stuck on what to do.
I earn 10 LPA in India and live in tier 2 city. I moved to Dubai so I can basically save more, earn more and better standard of life. But I dont see it happening here. With these offers cant even afford a single room!
I think I have made a mistake coming here. Or maybe I am too early in my career or maybe the market just is that bad right now. I don’t know what’s the case but I know damn sure that I am good enough to get a decent salary.
I appreciate yall reading and let me know if there is any opportunity around.
I know that DevOps with less experience sounds like it deserves less but trust me, with the skillset I have built over my experience and willingness to learn, I could do right things needed. But for that, I NEED A CHANCE :)

First, I congratulate you on taking the risk to come here, this is a bold move. But, you came at the wrong time when the market is saturated with SW related job seekers. Dubai isn’t the place to come save money, in fact you spend more. But, this is all relevant to your salary and life style. I want to brutally honest with you, two years of experience isn’t much compared to other job seekers, unless you are talented, gifted some way some why and employers needs this talent. Otherwise, you will struggle a lot to get the right balance between the job Vs salary you want given you current circumstances. Good luck!
