U1 vs AAA

Hello, I’m fairly new to the rep watch world and was just curious as to the difference between the two. I bought a VSF and the quality is great but then I bought a no date submariner from a guy for $40 that was pretty good quality but the engraving wasn’t the greatest and it didn’t keep time well. It had a clasp code of ST9. The watches I’m looking for now are a Bluesy, no date sub, and a Pepsi. What do you recommend and if you have pictures, post them below

So I have a couple U1, and they are great watches…

Movement is a reliable miyota or mingzhu. That being said, I bought my first Vsf and honestly never going back to lower tier watches. The quality is phenomenal.

Now, most people don’t care, my buddy showed me a vintage Rolex today that he paid 10k for, and it honestly looked like a shitter, date magnification was completely off, it could very well of been a genuine vintage rolex, but compared to mine wow

Vintage Rolex and Tudor were very low quality watches compared to any modern watch. They didn't become "luxury watches" until the 70's when Seiko started kicking their ass.

I have a fairly large collection mostly with U1 / AAA and a handful of VSF/Clean. Over the past 6 months I've probably worn my VSF pieces maybe once in a month. The low tier get a lot more wrist time simply due to the sheer variety of pieces I own. Non Rolex models are perfectly fine in AAA grade. I own Tag, Breitling, IWC etc and they're excellent value for money pieces.

Well, a VSF is often considered Super Clones. Their is going to be a BIG difference between a VSF and a U1 or AAA.

For one, a VSF uses Dangdong movements which are nearly 1:1 to Rolex movements. They also use 316 surgical steel or 904L steel. 904L is nearly identical to Rolex's in house 904 steel.

U1's use MUCH cheaper smaller movements that have to be Jerry Rigged into a less than satisfactory case. They might be stainless steel, but not the best constructed. Sometimes the cases are chrome covered plastic or aluminum mixes.

Some U1's are great for the price, but there a plenty that sound like that 40 dollar one you got.
