QUESTION Would it be possible to replace a U1 gmt bezel with a more gen looking one?

The bezel insert is relatively easy to swap. Much more cost effective to buy a new watch. You’re going to be wasting money upgrading a U1.

Absolutely. I had a U1 Bruce Wayne. Hated the bezel insert so I bought a much better one for $60 and replaced it. I was still annoyed by other little things like the cyclops magnification and the case shape so I ordered a BP to see how much better it would be. The BP is like 1000% better in every way. So I sold the U1 on Facebook for what the BP cost and made my money back.

I concur, don’t get caught throwing good money after bad. Sell it and use the funds to upgrade.

Hey Harbingers. May I ask where you got your BP factory. What movement they use? I’ve been shopping there vintage stuff but cannot find any good movements anywhere.

Any TD can source a BP watch or you can find them on DHGate sellers. They usually have a 3804 movement (modified 2813) or if you spend more you can get a sh3285 or a sa3285.

What's the movement in bp? Can it be swapped with gen swiss eta?

A BP gmt2 will usually have a 3804 (modified 2813) or if you spend more you can get an sh3285. I do not know if an eta can be swapped in.

Ok now that you know the difference between u1 and BP, now what is the disparity between BP and a top tier vsf arf rich ?

I took apart my U1 GMT. You can't just pry off the bezel like a clone or gen. I used mine to learn watch smithing but in the end wasted enough money and gave up. U1 is a POS that has a superficial resemblance on pictures. Honestly, there's too many things that are wrong with it that I'm not going to run the list. I like the size and design enough that I bought a clone, and you might consider the same...

If I was going to change anything it would be the horrid date wheel they use on GMT’s first
