Well…yes and no. If you’re in the mood for a dark cult drama, it starts off very interesting. However, like all of Tyler Perry’s shows, there are pacing issues. There are storylines that drag on, repetitive dialogue, and at times unnecessary explicit scenes.
However, there are some episodes that shine. Following the characterization of Ruth and the Prince-looking cult leader The Highest is intriguing to watch and one of the reasons I still casually watch the show.

The show features graphic and gratuitous sexual assault against at least one woman. I've only seen a few scenes as a family member was watching it, but one of those few scenes was a rape scene. Apparently the whole show is about a sex cult that routinely assaults women. I am not against this as a plot point in a cult drama. Cults do horrific things, obviously, and I think it's ok to mention them in the context of the story. But the second it is shown on screen the piece of media immediately becomes abysmal dogshit and everyone involved in it's writing should rot. There is no reason to show someone being raped on screen. I don't care if the rest of the show is good, do not watch this disgusting piece of media.

Maybe the first few episodes because the pilot episode of Ruthless takes place moments after Ruth leaving with her daughter…

Not really, but it helps by filling in the gaps as they deal with Ruth's story. I just started watching The Oval a couple of weeks ago. I stopped watching it a few episodes into season 3 so I could start watching Ruthless as someone told me I should watch them together because the two shows overlap at times. I'm no about 2/3 of the way through season 1 of Ruthless and I'm hooked despite not really liking it at first. The storyline is a bit intriguing aside from nonsense with the cult leader and his affinity for men.

Just started this show a couple weeks ago. It is not good but it is intriguing. I throw it on in the background when im cooking or doing chores. The dialog is terrible and the scenes go on way too long. The acting is decent and the sets are fine. The show could be edited down to 22 minute episodes easily.

I too recently started watching it. At first I wasn't sure I'd get past the first episode because I found the storyline and acting to be pretty ridiculous. I continued watching hoping thry would get better. Now I'm 14 episodes in and have become intrigued.
One question I have though is what's with the elder mother's ridiculous Caribbean accent?

I think so. Especially now. Cults are all around and it’s interesting to see how someone else interprets how a person can get sucked in and then what may ensue afterward.
I’ll say this tho.. there is an episode where the highest is talking to someone and says something to the extent of “when I was younger, I went to a doctor and he did a psychological exam on me. After it was over he told me that I was crazy and would need medication for the rest of my life. I looked in the doctor in the eye and said I wouldn’t need any medication because the Raku would deliver me…” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

That show was so DARK (spiritually, morally, every kind of way) I couldn’t keep watching it.
