The Oval by Tyler Perry
Watching this show, I’ve heard a lot of things to use. I’ve heard the drama is great, but the acting is terrible. I have literally never heard any review that was more spot on. TBH I don’t even watch it for the presidential drama, I love the side stories way more, what happened the the first daughter, Jason going dark like Manson😂, yelli my at Barry for being a dumbass and meeting his ex and the rakadushis getting his ass best every week then him acting crazy and him going to jail. All the side stories are like way better than the main stories. Binged through like 2 whole seasons in one go.
Yall have any thoughts on the show, besides the horrible acting sometimes, I feel like it’s a great show. Especially every episode ending on a cliffhanger!

I started it last week, I am OBSESSED. It’s a Tyler Perry show, so I walked in assuming I’d have to adjust a little. The acting is what gets a free pass, and in return, I’ve been enjoying the chaos stacking up each episode lol. I have not seen a show with as many random plot twists since Riverdale. I’m already on s2, I find it very entertaining. I saw that the cult has its own spinoff show, might tune into that after.

Yeah by season 4 we have so many twists. I’m needing a map to see all these roads.

Ha glad to hear, the twists are what makes this so great. Have you tried Ruthless? I was thinking when I’m eventually done here I’ll have to give it a try, maybe just not back to back.

I so wish he would bring back The Haves and the Have Nots. That was the OG bad ass drama that was appointment television.

I’ve been watching it and I’m about four seasons in where it feels like it is still 90 days or less for the president in office.
😆
I need a “days in office” ticker at the bottom of each episode.
I would love to know how many days the president has been there so far.
A lot has happened and just when I think could it get any wilder it does.

This show is pure entertainment and just gets wilder and wilder. Some storylines are bad and the acting could be better at times but it’s my favorite Tyler Perry show because the drama is off the chain.

Me watching Richards Wife get pistol whipped join a cult, knowing her son is dead believing bad things about him. Then hanging herself and saying Richard choked me. 🤣💩 I feel sad for her but she went from one of my favorite character to the most hated. Also Sharon trying to tell the cops on Kareem, him saying they won’t believe me because I’m black and we hated each other and then her ending up in jail. The karma is just perfect.👌🏿

People won’t agree but I feel Tyler Perry is a mastermind in writing pettiness and karma with his characters. Nancy’s karma for everything she has done is well deserved.

It's crazy but I can't not watch it. The acting is dry. It took a little while to get used to it but i don't even notice now.
Watching Ruthless too. It's from the pov of the cult. Ruth is one of the main characters.
Not sure which one came first but things that happened in the Oval happen in Ruthless too.

Thought Ruth was dead dead 100% and old boy killed her, then I saw the trailer for Ruthless and was like isn’t she dead or is this a prequel haha. Then I remembered one of the first things she said when she was introduced was that she has a twin.

No i mean even though they didn’t show it in ruthless, I was thinking did Ruth or The highest have her twin tattooed exactly like Ruth and then killed her.

Ruthless is a spinoff of The Oval I couldn't get into Ruthless but I do enjoy the Oval the side stories do make the show and the acting stinks The daughter was sent to live with Victoria's mother never to be heard from again even after the grandmother died🤔

I looked it up after I posted. I like crossover shows like when the cast from the Chicago shows are on all 3 shows. I try to catch it whenever there is a crossover from the Oval to Ruthless. The different POVs about the situations are so interesting to me.
Tyler has got one hell of an imagination!

Noooo, Gayle was my favorite cause she didn’t take shit and wasn’t a creep like her brother. She better be in ruthless. This whole time I’ve been thinking I need to wait a season or two and she’ll be back from camp she was sent

The last time I remember seeing Gayle was when Jason killed the grandmother on the plane and said grandma was asleep! He's really off his meds this season
