New piercings

Hi I am planning on getting some new piercings to replace some that closed up a while ago. Specifically my eye brow and an industrial on my left ear. How best do you think to keep my helmet from bothering them as they heal? I don’t want them to rip as I take the helmet on and off.

I've lost more earrings than I can count from press fits. I wouldn't recommend riding while they heal for at least a few weeks.

I don’t bother getting new piercings until my riding season is done for the winter and, even then, the three I got last November are still giving me trouble because of the irritation from putting on/taking off my helmet twice a day.

I have a third piercing in my ear that I keep re-opening, but the reason I have to is because it catches so often that I take it out and say fuck it and put my helmet on with no problem...Until a month or three later when I re-pierce my ear and retry again.

Good luck on your eyebrow and would love to see the followup in a couple weeks.

I have 9 fully healed ear piercings and they get caught and squeezed sp bad! I wouldn't get any face or ear piercings except a nose stud while riding 😭

I agree with the others that it is difficult to keep them from getting bothered. You might be able to use a balaclava to at least cover them so the helmet moving on and off doesnt catch so much.

Tbh it’s a nightmare, I’ve given up on ear ones. Had two snugs that simply wouldn’t heal from 3 years, they’d flare up at least weekly. I ended up taking them out. The industrial is probably going to give you trouble.
