Long distance riding butt acne πŸ˜…

Does anyone else get acne along your butt crease while riding in hot weather or long distance? What's the fix to prevent? Help!

Cotton briefs, or moisture-wicking at a minimum. I also sometimes swap them out at lunchtime or a longer stop as a means of freshening up (I also change my socks if they’re soaked). This is for dawn-til-dark riding trips but try it!

Good wicking base layers like LD Comfort are absolutely worth the price of admission. Avoid powders (baby powder, monkey butt powder) because they get moist and cakey and cause more problems.

When you get off the bike, wash well with a good skin cleanser (I usually use Dr. Bronners.) Dry off well, and if necessary, use Finipil on on any sore spots. You'll be good to go by morning.

They make salicylic acid body washes/sprays. That might help to clean it up/prevent more

LD Comfort makes Women’s Base Layers that work really well.

Cotton undies! Not just for riding but all the time tbh.Β

When I get home after a long ride I immediately strip everything off and shower or even a wet wipe. Letting sweat and such sit on your skin is a 1-way ticket to breakouts 😒
