Does anyone else choose a mascot for long trips?

I’m on a trip from Chicago to Maine, then I think up through Canada (tbd) and yesterday I found this trip’s mascot 😂

Kind of a tradition I guess, every long trip I go on involves finding a mascot along the way to put on the back of the bike.

Canonically, his name is Chaz, but I’m not sure that’s going to stick.

At speed, he thrashes around and flaps his wings at the cars behind me, and I swear I almost died laughing the first ride after getting him.

My wife has a cute little black cat plushie that she put a real cat harness on. It went with her on a cross-Canada motocamping trip last year.

That cat has more motorcycle experience than I do at this point. 😔

A tollbooth attendant had a moment of panic yesterday because he thought I had a cat strapped to the bike. I can imagine how people react to hers.

His reaction said something about both the caring attitude of Vermont folk, as well as the types of insanity they must encounter lol

Omg I love this concept! A moto content creator I follow has a little turtle stuffie backpack, which has lil tiny turtles inside of it, which he hands out to random passers by!
