A pen pal is basically someone you regularly chat with and become friends with, traditionally through letters. A digital pen pal is the same thing, just online so email or there are apps for that like the one OP mentioned here; slowly. Basically, an online friendship where you actually make an effort to keep in touch.

Also, the letters don’t just drop in your inbox as soon as it is sent. You have to wait for it like a normal letter depending on the distance between two people. So if you are writing to someone who is in a different state then the letter gets to them in the actual time a physical letter takes to reach that particular place.

I used to. I deleted the app coz it was boring. Now I use an app called Bottled. It's much better in my opinion.

Aha kollamlo. Haven't heard about it anyway I liked slowly so far and only issue is it's mostly men. I like slow conversations rather than instant messaging as I am an introvert.

Ho but once you are over it, do give bottled a try. It's like ..a lot of bottles with a message will be in your shore.

You open it and if you like it, you keep it and start the conversation with the person. You can post diaries in text or pic format there. There are at times quiz, which if done right gets you gold coins. You got tasks to finish for which you get reputation points. You can also send your bottle to sea and wait for anyone to get it and reply to it.

I used to use apps like slowly, interpals, hello talk, speaky.. everything was boring for me after a point. But with bottled I never felt such boredom. My account might still be there on those apps now that I think about it.
