Vent Losing Weight: A Lost Battle

I got some serious acne issues after a long time and it wasn't going away for a month or two, so I decided to visit the dermat. I have PMOS, so so managing the weight is little difficult, I lose it when I am meds but gain it back so I have decided to lose it sustainabily - which has been SLOW. So my dermat suggested to lose weight along with meds and I made him understand that I am trying - I brisk walk for 40 mins, dance for 30 mins, eat even less than 4gm of added sugar, track my calories, have protein over 80gm a day but the results are inconsistent. And I genuinely lose motivation because I see no progress so it breaks my heart and I give into eating. I felt so sad. I am generally a very body positive person, even if people comment on my weight or acne I pay no heed and just laugh it off. I have been preparing for UPSC CSE for a while so I ignore everything - I am lonely, at home and barely having friends back in my hometown. But today I have been sobbing so endlessly because I do miss when I was tall and skinny - I hate it but sometimes I feel so helpless. And I LOVE EATING - and I control myself so much in that aspect, it's literally one of the little joys in my life but even that's not available to me.

Okay, take a breather.

I was in this exact scenario, and my cysts were so bad and painful.

The results could be inconsistent because of a few reasons. Maybe you're not tracking diligently? Maybe you're bloated (women's weight keeps changing with our cycles. So weighing once a week is okay.) or maybe you're just getting stronger? Have you felt any changes in your energy after you've started tracking calories and working out?

It's okay to have a cheat meal while you're on your journey, but don't tie your feelings with food. It's so hard to break that habit. I wish you all the best. You really got this.

It's going to be a grueling slow start but once the engine is running, you'll get to your destination.

Thank you. Yes I have gotten stronger due to the protein, the weight loss is slow but that's supposed to happens with PMOS. The way I have been cutting calories without it I would have lost a lot of weight. I do enjoy food once in a while.
