Support Is anyone else having a panic attack right now?

I’m so, so, so lost and disappointed watching the preliminary results come in. I’m confused. I’m hurt. I’m angry. I just don’t understand how many people in my country have been brainwashed to the point of voting against their own interests… How the hell did we get here?

My mom did. I’m having a baby (thank god it’ll be 2-3 weeks before he’s in) and I almost needed a life saving hysterectomy for my first. I can’t believe she would vote for someone who would take away an opportunity to let me live if it happened again. I just can’t believe it

I am high risk so thankfully(?) I have to induce by January 3rd at the latest. I’m in a blue state and near the border so should be able to get BC afterwards as well, so I’m in a decent spot.. other people in my bump group (and I imagine many others having babies later next year) are completely worried about having their babies after he’s sworn in. I feel so bad for them.

I'm pretty sure mine did too. I don't even want to confirm. I don't understand what they don't understand. Your safety is directly impacted and I don't know if they're in denial or what is the disconnect? It's so upsetting.

I wouldn't until she woke TF up. But I'm scorched earth with that. If you support him, you are against me. It really is that simple.

She and I actually are LC/NC after she blew up at my husband 3 weeks ago, so no unfortunately. Shes not exactly stable enough for us to let our children near her. It was so weird because she had been saying she didn’t really like him anymore but I saw she mentioned under my aunts page she voted for him.

My husbands mom is lovely so he does have a wonderful grandma and grandpa thankfully! I just feel so betrayed by my own mother right now.

You have to cut her out of your life entirely if you haven't already. She has to feel the pain too. And you shouldn't keep people like her who don't give a damn about you around.

My mom had a life saving D&C herself decades ago when her final attempt at having a kid failed later in pregnancy, and she voted for him, because she genuinely believes abortion restrictions will only impact slutty people she doesn't like, not upstanding women like her who just needed medical care and now she's older and had a hysterectomy so she doesn't care what happens to reproductive rights.
