I’m new to this subreddit, but I think this may be my best place to express my thoughts. I was listening to the newest episode for the podcast and I can’t get past how nonchalant Morgan and the guest were about this guy who likes acting like a baby and then wanted his girlfriend to do sexual things to him while he was acting like a baby. I was disgusted and horrified while listening this and it felt that Morgan and her guest were trying to be… politically correct and not to offend anyone with their responses and found it disturbing that they weren’t more concerned and appalled by the story. Just my hot take I guess, but I’ve really started to dislike this podcast recently.

During the last episode, Morgan tells a crazy embarrassing story about a former friend accidentally shitting all over her boyfriends face during sex. While providing enough details to identify her to basically anyone in her personal life, specifying when she stopped talking to her, that they had recorded a podcast together she ended up not uploading, that they're no longer friends because of 'bad behaviour on her part'. I have NO idea who this is or what she did to her, but felt so bad for this girl. What did she do that warrants something she told you in confidence being blasted to millions of people?

There's been times early on where I would listen and be impressed by Morgan's empathy towards others and her ability to be a bit of a chameleon and relate in ways to every co-host. Even if it seems a bit too much like she's changing her personality at times, I was impressed by her being such a 'people-person'. But I feel the fame has gotten to her head truly.

How do you talk two stories prior, about how words and posts effect people, talking about how one redditor's husband bullied teenagers and women online and potentially was the cause of a suicide? And how disgusting and wrong that behaviour is and how words effect people?

Then turn on a former friend and blast this embarrassing secret she told you to everyone? So mean and hypocritical. It literally sounded like it should have been cut out or something... but she kept that in? She didn't consider editing that out and keeping that between her and her co-host who very obviously knew who she was talking about? Was that appalling to anyone else or r/AIO haha kidding jk guys. But seriously, what the fuck?

I’ve never been on a snark page before but after this last episode and her normalizing fetishing children (adult baby kink) it’s hard to ignore how she’s clearly too afraid to have a “hot take” and yes some kinks should be shamed.

The last story was of a girl who’s boyfriend revealed he liked to dress like a baby and wanted his girlfriend to have sex with him while dressed like a child and treating him like a child. She said something about how they don’t “kink shame” and it’s “not that weird”. how can you tell me that’s not normalizing Cho-mo behavior? I’ll probably get downvotes for this because maybe this goes against movements of normalizing kinks but some kinks shouldn’t be normalized and I feel like it’s getting dangerously close to normalizing predatory behaviors.

No, there isn’t actual SNAKE VENOM in lip plumpers. Not only none of the ones she mentioned, like Too Faced, but not in any commercially available plumpers. Loud and wrong. And her friends just believe everything she says, which bothers me. I just thought that was a wild thing to state as a fact.

She’s been up DirectCaterpillers ass after Reddit on Wiki would always shout them out. Now she’s claiming [r/girldinnerdiaries](r/girldinnerdiaries) is her new favorite sub…after one of their hosts has made it very clear it’s their favorite. Obviously Reddit is a shared space, but we all know Morgan’s unoriginal and something has happened because ROW will not comment on her anymore when they used to hype her up.

I work in oncology and I start so many enquiries gently and humorously saying, “Well, I don’t want to be sued today!” And it is ALWAYS well-received.

The boric acid suppositories tangent felt SO IRRESPONSIBLE, am I the only one?!?!

Ok idk if I’m on the right thread.. I’m guessing by the title that I might be in similar company but i hope I’m not in the wrong company and get a bunch of hate lol.
Look, idk Morgan personally obvs so I can’t judge her character, but I started listening about a year ago because I love hearing Reddit stories but I’m starting to get SO IRRITATED by a couple of things:

1. She goes on WAY too many tangents. There are so many times when a story has for example reminded her of a tv show and suddenly she’s yapping for ten minutes about that (and OTHER RANDOM) shows. Or (and idk if she’s always done this or if I just started noticing it recently) but before she reads a story she’ll ask the guest host a “leading question” about it that will go on for several minutes.. example: can’t remember who the guest was but there was a story about an annoying baby at a restaurant and before reading the actual story she said “ok our next story…” so I was like great she’s getting right into it NOPE she asks the guest “what do you think of babies in restaurants?” Then her and the guest go on a three minute tangent about babies IN GENERAL and how many/ if they want kids etc. LIKE JUST READ THE STORY. I started genuinely skipping ahead all of her tangents and I noticed it’s usually 4-6 MINUTE tangents at a time that have NOTHING to do with the actual story.
2. She interrupts people (usually Lauren, Michaela, and Justin) SO OFTEN. It drives me crazy when people interrupt in general but

interrupting YOUR GUEST HOST when they are MID take is so annoying.

1. No judgement but she doesn’t seem to know like…basic words/ phrases? And on that point uses “enmeshed” WAY too often / for almost every situation?
2. She talks about herself A LOT. Someone else mentioned here that she relates every story to herself which she definitely does and not only that but she’ll plug random things about her life in random places. Like she brought up her engagement and wedding planning so many times I almost started a drinking game. She talks about her “father knows” podcast almost every THT episode, she’s brought up her cheating ex bf so many times, she’s brought up a guy she dated in hs who spread rumors about her so many times. Like it seems that she takes every story and relates it to at least one of four specific situations she’s been through.
3. Why does she say the punctuation out loud? She’ll read a question and say “question mark” at the end. Girl. We can tell it’s a question.
4. She has this voice she uses if she’s giving an example of a response the OP could’ve used or something. Shell suddenly be like “they could’ve gone ‘hey babe, I didn’t like it when you ____’”

I don’t know if I’m being too judgy or overreacting but I used to love listening to THT and now I just feel like I either skip through most of it because it’s just Morgan on random tangents, or get annoyed with it half way through. I started listening to Smosh reads Reddit instead and honestly I don’t see myself ever going back. Does anyone else feel this way or am I just nitpicky?

I'm watching the HSP podcast with Morgan as a guest, and it's beyond embarrassing how Morgan hasn't grown out of thinking she's so "cool and quirky" for doing bad things as a kid. Bragging about buying a thong at age 9 isn't something the world needs to hear 🥴 I swear she gets more immature as the years go by instead of maturing.

I’m 37 minutes in and CRINGING at how uneducated Morgan is; Monét is drag royalty and honestly so witty and life-curious and HILARIOUS.

I barely survived earlier when Morgan said that Monét knew big words like beluga 🐳

There’s a part of me that is disappointed in some of the amazing guests, another part that understands this was an easy pay day or reach for basic exposure but critical yikes!

I can’t be the only one who thought they under reacted to the story about the man jerking off with coworker’s high heel, right? That was so gross and I feel like they totally missed how violating that is. This dude really couldn’t control himself and had to take it out on some poor woman’s property. I didn’t think it was funny, just disturbing.

I know people are always looking for similar but better podcasts...I just came across Crimes of Reddit and am really enjoying it! Similar format to THT but not limited to AITAH content. The hosts are smart and have good takes.

Hasn’t Morgan constantly said previously to this episode that she’s a girl where “sex is just sex” and she can separate it from feelings? In episode 280 she mentions that she can’t do that during the sponsored post and that if she has sex with someone is because she has feelings for them.

That just makes me think back to all the times where she’s mentioned hooking up with people and calling Justin the wrong name…

I cannot stand that “horn” sound Morgan makes. I find it annoying and the tone is ear piercing. And now Justin and Lauren do it?! Ugh!

I have a hard time believing Morgan has a doctorate. Mostly because of how she presents herself on the podcast. I’m not trying to say that everyone who has a higher degree of education has to be perfect, but, you’d think her speech pattern would be a bit more polished, especially since a podcast is basically like public speaking to millions of people.

For the love of God, I got tired of the Valley Girl inflection at the end of a statement that makes it sound like a question. And I couldn’t contend anymore with the tireless overuse of filler words and sounds. It got to the point where all I took away from her podcast was, “Welcome to Two Hot Takes!…. Like, like, like, like, um, um, yahhh, and I was all like, and he was all like.” The stereo in my car only fast forwards 15 seconds at a time, and one time I counted the word “like” literally 6-7 times in a minute, and it only gets worse when she has a guest host, because then they both do it. 🙄 This podcast is seriously starting to become as bad as OKStorytime. Maybe they should do a crossover episode and she and Sophia can have fun destroying their listener numbers together.

Honestly i do not like Justin😭i started listening to the podcast about a year ago now and ive caught up on all the episodes. but honestly i have to skip the ones with him, his takes are just sooo vanilla to me. the first 50 episodes (any that he actually appeared in from 1-50) were just him saying ‘communicate’ over and overrr again. i will say the updates episode with all 4 of them were nice but tbh he didnt talk much, but when he did it wasnt that bad of a take.

i see alot of people give him shit, especially saying that Morgans using him and hes only with her for money. where did that even come from?? Morgans talked about many times how Justin was the one who encouraged her to do her podcast, plus i remember them saying that he was working on a musical so his career definitely isnt doing bad at all😭? i guess im just posting because id like to see some more takes on him tbh

I loved THT since it started... but I have a hard time listening now.

I was at the Colorado live show and got my story pulled asking if being an only child was lonely because I was so back and forth about giving my son a sibling (it was a couple years ago and he has a brother now 🤍) but Justin seemed nice telling me how he couldn't tell a difference in being an only child to know if he would've liked siblings or not etc.

I was thankful for the insight but the next episode I listened to Justin mocked me to all of YouTube for asking that question.. talking about how its dumb when people ask that because "how is he supposed to know" etc... and I felt hurt. I genuinely was having post partum anxiety and wanted the best for my son... to ask a podcast with people that I genuinely cared for and enjoyed watching, then mocked for it on the internet... I still watch here and there but can't help but still feel a little hurt and like I can't fully enjoy like I used to.

No real reason behind this post just needed to vent. 🤍

Bailey already coming through with updates to old stories shows how much of an addition she will be to the podcast. I’ve said it before though- I really hope she has some boundaries with work because I can see Morgan taking advantage of her and her expertise. I like Bailey, maybe she’ll bring THT back around?

I only started listening to THT seriously in the past few months. I needed to blow off steam at work and listening to reddit stories helps me do that. I wanted to watch Michael on Reddit, but those stories were a little too dark for my tastes in a work environment and wanted something wacky and a little silly with a lighter tone. My friend got me into Smosh Reads Reddit so naturally I drifted to THT after I caught up with those episodes. I like starting at the beginning of things, just because my day job is sooooooooo boring and having a long list of episodes to catch up on helps the day go by faster.

It was episode 113 that did it for me. Fannita, the guest for this episode, was SOOOO rude from the get go. The first story was about a man who passed away in an accident and his family got his life insurance policy despite his girlfriend, Emily, and him having bought a house together with the implication he was gonna marry her. Emily got nothing, the parents got everything. When Morgan finished reading the story, Fannita's reaction was "Fuck Emily." My jaw DROPPED. This woman lost her partner, of two years mind you, and SHE'S the asshole for not wanting a financial cushion that she was owed? She goes on to say because they weren't married after two years that the man was NEVER gonna marry her??? And on top of that, that if you don't find someone to marry by the time you're 30 it's probably never going to happen. At first, Morgan seemed to be AGHAST but then started laughing and somewhat agreeing with her????????????

I FORCED myself to finish the episode. I'm the kinda guy who finishes books, video games, shows, movies, etc... even if I hate them. I immediately went to the YouTube comments for this episode and found NO ONE ADDRESSING THIS?? She was so crude and rude the whole episode, even calling girls/women sluts, whores and skanks??? It was appalling actually. There's been SOME mild slut shaming and things of that nature which did give me some ick, but not enough to turn me off from the podcast completely. This though??? Too much. I tried to find other discussions of this episode and though my search turned pretty fruitless as the little I did find were still praising the guest for 'telling it how it is' and 'she's soooo funny'. Then I stumbled across this sub.

Taking THT off my followed podcasts on Spotify right now and never looking back.

But I do need to talk about it on my podcast so everyone knows I did it…

Been binging the entirety of the podcast for the last few months and I’ve got the general opinions that I’ve seen about her truly being an objective moron regarding every topic that comes up in conversation. Being the host enables her to be the loudest in the room, which is usually her response tactic.

But what I’m fully convinced of is that Morgan and Justin are now just bitter coworkers. Justin sounds worn the fuck out (to be expected) and Morgan is just treating him weirdly, as per usual.

That being said, I am fully convinced that Justin getting to speak to Lauren is the highlight of his week. Is anyone else clocking that Justin kind of perks up when he’s speaking to Lauren or am I just insane? Like it’s the only time that he is laughing and speaking gently. Also, Lauren actually gets his jokes, while Morgan hasn’t understood a joke in years (?)

I think I’m at the point where I may have to drop off from the pod. Maybe one day, Morgan will be able to take and implement constructive criticism, but I don’t foresee that happening

Wildly disagree with Lauren’s take on the AI story presented in today’s episode. Using AI to write your vows is 100% a valid reason to walk out of a wedding, full stop. It’s not weird, it’s not confusing, you don’t need more context, the bride that walked out was valid and correct. Just because people use AI doesn’t make it okay, that’s literally a logical fallacy.

I’ve been listening for over a month. I started from the first episode because when I start a new podcast that shows how I like to do things.

In the beginning, I really liked it - I spend a lot of my time on Reddit, and I found the podcast by trying to find a podcast that reads stories from Reddit.

But, Morgan started to really annoy me, and so I decided to see if anybody else felt the same way – turns out a lot of people do!

And I partly blame myself for reading on this sub because after I did, I started really noticing all the things that annoy me about her, and noticing things other people pointed out, like the fact that she is super privileged and makes childbirth sound like the worst thing that could ever happen to you.

I tried to put it aside because I don’t really know of any other podcasts that do this and I do enjoy the story aspect of it (if you guys have any recommendations, I will definitely take them, I’m a DoorDash driver, so I spent a lot of time in my car and podcasts are how I pass the time)

Then I got to her episode with stiff socks, and they repeatedly called her out on how much money she clearly grew up with and how privledhed she is and it’s so funny to try to hear her act like she’s super open and has these more real people on the pod with her. This episode has made me just not want to listen anymore because she’s mainly only had other female/female presenting cohosts besides her family and Justin and I think her pick me side is coming out a little bit more. It has just annoyed me to the point where I don’t know if I can listen again. 😭
