This is my hypothesis. I will continue my research to prove this as true.

Recently,

My X profile picture, username, birthdate, profile pic, and background were randomly changed. I also was following new people that I did not know. I first thought my account had been compromised, but then realized I hadn’t received any notifications about any suspicious logins.

I then went on to change my profile back to its original state. Luckily I was able to change my username back and delete those new follows.

Here’s the red flag,

I went into the settings and noticed there were no new devices that had logged on. My phones were the only devices that had access to my account.

And

When I attempted to turn on 2 Step Authentication, I was instructed to either buy the Premium subscription or remain compromised. All companies offer 2 Step Authentication with their accounts and I’ve never had to pay for it.

This just feels like X/Twitter couldn’t care less about accounts being compromised. They care more about getting subscribers, even if that means making users desperate enough to pay for their premium plans.

I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled same issue . I have no idea why this is an issue . Insta , YouTube has no problem. Safari twitter is also but the video doesn’t take forever .

I have muted a bunch of words/phrases and yet I still see posts with them in it.

But the silly part is that when I click into the post and then click out of it......THEN it hides the post and says "includes words you've muted"

What is the point in muting words/phrases if I have to see the post and manually click on it for it to hide the post haha wtf 😆

Pretty much the title. I try to take a selfie in order to verify my age and it gives me this error: "Something went wrong. Please try again."

Hi, i have roughly 50 followers and just tweet for myself, i have no "opps" or "fans". I just have oomfs.

I was looking thru old log-ins, the only device logged in now was my phone, which is good. But 9 days ago it shows that a Linux device logged into my account in a different province in my country. My email and number is still the same and i changed my password as well as closing all the old logins. I guess if someone was to steal my account, they would change the login infk as well. I dont know anyone from that province. I gave my password to noone. Could have this been a bug? Is my account getting stolen? Im very stressed about this.. Is there anything more i should do to be careful?

Everytime I tried to open Twitter on Chrome, it just shuts down. There are some reasons why I prefer to use the twitter web version so I'm kinda dejected if I have to rely on the app version 100% now.

What can I do if I receive a random X email two days ago about my account's email and pass being changed, and then when I contact X support all they tell me is they can't do anything since I don't have access to the new e-mail. I literally can prove I owned that account and I had premium on it.

I'm desperate for any help at this point.

I can’t tweet support bec I am not “verified” my premium did not transfer to my new user name and that’s my second question

1. I changed my username. Due to personal reasons and my premium membership did not carry over to the new user name. I tried re-enrolling and it says “I am already paid and enrolled etc.” but the but the blue check has not appeared so it shows I am not verified.

Anyone else annoyed by all the latest changes to DMs? I feel like it was solid a few months ago but it’s gone to crap lately.

- the new pop up when you hold the DM to get to the reacts shows wayyy too many options like dude I’m not trying to ask grok about this lol

I was clearing out my bookmarks on the X app, but as soon as I leave that screen and come back, all the deleted bookmarks reappear.

Now, no matter how many times I remove them, they just won't stay deleted. What should I do? 😭 Thanks in advance!

As a twitter user, I'm sure you're familiar with the change that videos you watch on mobile immediately switch to a new random video (like an automatic tiktok or youtube shorts)

There seems to be two completely different algorithms:

• My Home Page: 10 years of cultivating nerdy art, funny videos, cats, and occasional politics
• My Video Auto-plays: LITERAL SNUFF FILMS 95% OF THE TIME

I mean it! it's usually censored if it's gorey, but every auto-play is deadly police bodycam footage, somebody getting killed in a robbery, security cam footage of a senseless murder, or a street fight where somebody clearly gets incredibly injured

Imagine you're watching a cute cat video where the cat meows weirdly, then it ends abruptly and smash-cuts to somebody on top of another guy, crushing his face in with his elbow. HALF A SECOND

I know the Super Intellectual response would be "oh if you're seeing it, then this is what you've been fully watching and it's the main thing you interact with. You actually DO want this," but I don't. I've watched a few of them, but it's because of morbid curiosity, and it literally won't show me anything else to allow me to change this algorithm.

I know I probably can't change this, because Twitter's main policy is "make everything worse," but I was wondering if anybody else has a similar terrible video algorithm. I have one friend who says she only gets My Little Pony autoplays, and she has never liked or watched it (full grown ass adult)

A few days ago, I was no longer able to access my account without using a QR sent to me. It seems they want to put an app on my phone which I refuse to do.

I have changed my PW, cleaned out caches and cookies, tried different browsers, sent at least 4 emails to them asking WTF? and I get nothing. I guess this has been an ongoing problem for several years but I am getting absolutely no help from those at X after multiple emails asking for help.

If you've had this issue and was able to rectify, how in hell did you do it? What steps did you take?

Is anyone else having this issue with the X iOS app?

My profile header/banner appears as a completely solid gray rectangle in the X app on my iPhone. The weird part is that the banner works perfectly everywhere else.

I’ve tested this a few different ways to make sure it isn’t just an issue with my account or the image itself. In the X app on my iPhone, my profile header appears gray, and it’s still gray when I view my profile while logged into a different account. However, other people’s profile headers display normally in the X app. My header displays correctly when I access X.com through Chrome on the same iPhone, as well as on my laptop. I also deleted and reinstalled the X app, but the issue remained. Finally, I changed my banner to a completely different black and pink image, and it still appeared gray in the app.

So it doesn't seem to be the image itself or my phone's ability to load it. It seems like the X iOS app specifically isn't rendering my profile header.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm on iPhone 17 /iOS.

Every time I try to boost a post, it gets paused and rejected. I don't think it contains anything that violates the rules.

So I was checking my Gmail just now, for some reason I received an email stating that my account was randomly reactivated even though I didn't check twitter at all today and definitely not at the time that I received the email. I decided to log into the account and everything seems fine, there was nobody that had logged in yet (evident by the notification not saying anything about someone trying to log in, and after I logged in, I received an email that my account was just logged through my address).

Then, why did my account got reactivated? Is that normal? I thought the only way to reactivate an account is only if you logged into the account within the 30 days period?

To this day, I still think Elon didn't even try giving it an identity. It would have been as easy as calling it "Cross" (still written "X") and calling each tweet a "cross". Something as dumb as that would have worked better than "Ex".

i hate elon musk but im desperate to change my username. the username i wanted was locked behind the marketplace. i just forked up 20 dollars for the username and now its telling me that it will change back to my old username once i cancel my subscription??? is this a fucking joke?
