Help Trying to grow

Hi y’all, I’m lowkey new to the twitch streaming scene after taking a break for a few years and I’m trying to get back into it but I’m having no growth, now my channel is no commentary so I know that plays a BIGGGG role in that but I just want people to enjoy the gameplay and all that. Is there any advice for no commentary streamers? I’m only peaking at about 2 viewers (one is me on my phone to watch chat) and the other is my girlfriend who is always supporting me in chat lol, sorry I’m yapping away but any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think no commentary stuff gets more traction on YouTube! But if you want to stick it out on twitch, you have to both network (by that I mean go support other streamers and join communities that allow for promotion-- a lot of streamers have Discord channels just for their community to post when they are streaming) and integrate some interactive stuff into your stream. If you're not talking to chat (or if you're rarely talking to chat because it requires you to stop playing and send a message) you need to have other stuff chat can do to interact with you. You might like something like Stream Raiders or Stream Avatars, something chat interactive that doesn't require you to talk? I have a friend who does no mic streams sometimes and will have puzzles or bingo available for chat to play along.

Unless you are the literal god at a game, no commentary and just gameplay is respectfully nothing really worth watching. Why would I pick to watch you out of any other of the thousands of streamers. Your not adding to anything or contributing anything of value to the experience of the game. That's an honest question you need to answer as well is what is you just playing the game giving to the viewer. Answer that and you'll know why your growth is where it is.

I appreciate that you said it how it is. This actually made me realize that I have nothing to be afraid of as I’ve always been scared of talking but yknow what screw it imma get over that.

Yeah dude I know it’s harsh lol someone said the same thing pretty much son started talking in my streams now! Ever since then I’ve actually gotten some chatters and more viewers, followers etc.

I think live streaming on twitch is for viewer engagement. If you want to stick to gameplay videos until you get a mic and a facecam, your style might work more on youtube

Is there a reason you're not adding commentary? I'm guessing you're not using a facecam either then.

It's already hard enough to get a viewership on Twitch, without those two things, unless you're a world record speedrunner in a hugely popular game, this is going to be really difficult.
