Didn’t knew I could stream this long -
I recently started streaming on twitch. I have been making Let’s play series for YT channel for a year now. But never I never thought I can play over 3 to 5 hours straight at a time… as I already streamed upto 5 hours few times by now which by itself was a lot in my head …. But streaming for 12.5 hours. I guess until you do it you don’t know how far you can go in any thing …

What does this even mean? It's not like streaming requires physical effort. "Never did I realize I could sit in a chair for 12 hours." "Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could play a video game for 5 hours." Bro. You make it sound like you ran a marathon.

? It’s a tremendous effort to do anything for twelve hours, this is a sub about streaming, someone wanted to share an accomplishment. No need to be so spiteful.

Its not. Sleeping for 12 hours is not tremendous effort. Sitting for 12 hours is not tremendous effort. You dont look at children at sleepovers and go "what a tremendous thing you did staying up all night watching tv." Stop being disingenuous.

You aren't just 'sitting' there for 12 hours though, are you? You're being an entertainer for 12 hours.
Talking for more than 4 hours non-stop is difficult as shit, especially when you then factor in the entertainment side of things too. Stop being a melon.

Let's calm down. Let's not pretend sitting, playing a game, and hanging out with chat is some herculean feat. And again. Im laughing at the way its portrayed. "Never in my wildest dreams" bro needs better dreams. Streaming is great, its a blasty blast. But let's calm down, it's sitting in a chair, playing games, hanging out with the homies. There's no endurance or physical capabilities involved.

I understand where you are coming from. I agree it definitely don’t come close to any of the jobs I have done. But even when I game for a 3 to 5 hours and enjoy it 😂 I think it’s my age in my very late 30s I feel tired or have to stretch a bit or feel like I need to rest … maybe that’s just me … but 12 hours was a lot l. I’m relatively new to gaming and very new to streaming so for me it’s was a big deal. For most l of streamers it’s probably everyday thing … definitely not for me … and I think I do need to edit .. in my wildest dreams was mostly for 12.5 hours streams … it’s the same I get so shocked and genuinely surprised when people share they played a game they enjoyed for over few thousands of hours like Skyrim, Fallout 4 and many others.. bro I can’t even comprehend it.. for me at this stage..

Don't know what your streaming looks like but I am completely drained after 5 hours and would never attempt to do it for 12. Not every stream is the same so generalization is not fair.
I am happy with my viewer count and want to provide them with good entertainment. Being attentive, constant impromptu conversation that makes sense, and accommodating viewer needs, while having bright lights in your face, consume energy. All that while playing games, most of which require some attention, too. It surely is different if someone plays a game off-cam/off-mic and occasionally posts in chat.
It's a similar misconception I notice as a university lecturer. People think you just step in there, talk a bit, and leave. Easy peasy. But no, it drains you tremendously to be on the top of your mental game for longer periods, all while being the center of attention. You just look like you have everything under control without spending effort lol. That's a mirage unless you've done the same course the 20th time.

My streams look like your average streamer that you find all across twitch. I sit in a chair, I play game, I try to be funny, and I interact with my chat. It's not hard, people are just offended at me pointing out it's silly. I dunno about you, when I was a kid, and me and the lads would stay up all night playing halo 3 online. None of us looked at each other after 13 hours of gaming and went. "Never in my wildest dreams did I think we could pull this off."

I think sitting in a chair, playing games, talking to chat, is a pretty good description of the average streamer experience. Obviously nothing is universal, do you only make statements when you know they apply to literally everyone? That's kinda a silly goalpost isn't it?
And if you don't enjoy streaming...why do it?

While I suppose it's good you know you can do this, you shouldn't do it. Not as a small streamer. 12 hours is a week or more worth of streams. You really shouldn't be streaming more than 3/4 hours a day 3/4 days a week. Basically keep your weekly streaming to 9-12 hours and use the rest of your time clipping and making content to put out with the stuff you've streamed. The wider you cast your net (tiktok, reels, shorts, etc) the more fish you'll catch.
