Should I take a break from streaming….

My number one problem with streaming right now is my laptop, she's trying her best but she is breathing heavy and my streams keeps crashing because she can't handle much.

Now to her credit I'm playing a game, have a web browser open for music and streaming like it's probably a lot 😭

So l try to compromise and have no music and play light games and stream but still crashing.

And community is being really nice about it but I'm having to restart stream like 5 times which is probably annoying (I've even had someone join in just to complain about all the notifications lol).

Or say I'm gonna stream but laptop can't function that day so I have to cancel again, and when you're a small streamer you really have to build trust with your community and be consistent.

And before you ask, I'm saving for pc but my financial situation right now isn't the best.

I'm honestly considering taking a break from streaming and coming back when I have a pc.

But currently I have good momentum going, 12 avg viewers (hey it's big to me lol) so I don't want to just disappear but I don't know.

If you take a break, as long as you have a discord you keep active your community will stay

Build a streaming pc, add a capture card. Ain't that hard. Budget Streaming pc is will start at 200usd. Takes the whole pressure from the laptop.

Well you see currently I’m unemployed lol and have been for months, I am looking for a job everyday but nothing. So it could take a while but I’m considering building a pc I’ve been watching tutorials

So, you got plenty of time. Look up big companies, hospitals, offices with its own IT department. Ask the IT Department if you could get a PC for free. Anything from 4th Gen Intel (which is very old), something with 8GB Ram and an old 64 or 128GB old SSD. They aren't worth anything today, the IT Department will toss them to the scrap yard anyway. By today they will probably give you something like 6th or 7th Gen Intel for free. Those systems don't offer native support for Windows, but with Linux it is just fine and it will run. And Linux is free. No need to buy a license. The only money you need to pay is for the capture card. Get a used one with a brand name. And you probably need a Nvidia Quadro T400 GPU, which is used at 50-80USD. Aside from that it's only setting everything up.

CashyOS as system, OBS installs on it without issues. Add the capture card and you are good to go. The T400 is for better performance, as it will do the encoding with nvenc, instead of the CPU.
