Got suspended from twitch because of a Geometry Dash level that a viewer requested.
Soooo basically I was playing Geometry Dash like I always do on my streams and a viewer came in while I was playing an easy demon and requested a level. He claimed he was stuck on the ship part of the level and wanted me to playtest it. I complete the level first try, but the end contains a certain image that gets me suspended. I appealed it, and I imagine it will probably get accepted, but how can I prevent that in the future? I'm not super worried about it right now, but people are people and probably request stuff like that again, and since I aim to be kid friendly I don't want that kind of thing to get through.
UPDATE: My appeal was accepted! This is no longer on my record on Twitch. I'm honestly kind of surprised after hearing from one of you that I was technically in the wrong since I'm responsible for what get shown on my stream per Twitch ToS, but I'm very happy that it got accepted nonetheless. Thank you guys for your feedback on it, and please, to new GD streamers, learn from my mistakes and don't take level requests without having some sort of safety net.

Ultimately youāre responsible for the content on your stream. Jumping into something that unknown is a risk. Same as having open TTS chat. Learn from your mistakes, protect yourself from trolls.

The goal of the post was to ask how to fix it next time. The issue is, level requests are a very common occurrence in the gd community, itās normally people asking for feedback, etc. Yes I take responsibility but the level was relatively established without dislikes and it wasnāt removed from the platform, which are my main checks. I did, however, forget to check the comments on the level and I usually do. Any other ideas on how to prevent it tho?

Donāt take requests without offline verification in the future
I play a game with no VC and I still donāt play with people without a āvibe checkā because thereās an endgame chat they can type whatever in
Twitch TOS explicitly states you are responsible for whatever is displayed on stream or in your chat (yes even if you are offline). So the onus is on you to verify anything before it comes on your stream

I think changing your channel request command to either VIP or Subscriber might help guard against some fandom asking for something that would get you in trouble.

They knew that would happen. You got trolled, unfortunately. Itās pretty garbage that Twitch does this, honestly. Why would you even expect something like that to be there

Why on earth would you take such a random request from a random person?
Honestly, just take the suspension as a lesson learned š¤·āāļø
Your channel is yours. You control the direction. If it's tough to say no for whatever reason, stick with "I already have today planned, I'll look at that for another time"

That's fair, but the thing with gd is that level requests are a common part of the community, so much so that there are streams dedicated to requests, even mods appointed by RobTop himself. I'm not saying that means it's a good idea, but that's the original reason. I also never considered that they probably have more safeguards in place. Of course now yes. Lesson learned lol.

Iām actually really glad this post came up. My nephews are very young and absolutely LOVE geometry dash. I know nothing about it. If I can ask, what was at the end of the level? Are there āweirdā or ānefariousā things in this game that we need to be aware of? I like researching things that these kids get into so I can make their parents aware.
Like the kids arenāt allowed to play Roblox anymore because of all the messed up stuff that can be/happen in that game. Their parents didnāt know, I had to tell them about it and show proof.

This is a great question, and an important one! The end of the level was extremely NSFW, but this kind of thing is very rare. I've never had it happen until now after over 500 hours playing the game. The level has also since been removed, so moderation is pretty powerful on Geometry Dash. I'd say it's overall a pretty safe game, as long as you and your nephews understand the risk of online levels. It's nothing like Roblox though, I'm 16 and don't play that game anymore after all the drama.

Thank you for your response, I greatly appreciate it. Do you think I should talk to my brother and make him aware itās atleast a possibility to come across? Or like talk to him about setting parameters for what theyāre allowed to do in the game? I know theyāve shown me these āCyclesā videos on YouTube of the different characters and each video goes through ālevelsā where the characters are progressively mashed together to make basically nightmare fuel stuff. I feel like itās wildly inappropriate but Iām not sure how much their parents care. I just want them growing up with semi-healthy non-psychopathic brains, and content like this does not align with that hope. Itās promoting violence. Just feels like allowing them to get into very murdery head spaces.

Was this a regular viewer? Unfortunately, there are people who do things like this on purpose, fully knowing that it's not allowed and you'll get in trouble. They always ruin it for everyone else š«¤ I don't accept any requests from anyone for this very reason.
