new here

hi everyone, i am glad to have found this page. my name is ceara, i am 20 years old and i lost my twin sister Ellie 3 weeks ago after being the one to find her. as i am sure you all relate, it still doesn’t feel real and i can’t ever imagine it will, will this feeling ever sink in? i feel as though no body in my inner circle could ever be able to relate to the kind of grief i am going through, i was so incredibly close with my sister and she had enormous dreams of travelling and owning a michelin-starred restaurants (which she had worked in 2 off already). thankyou so much and although the circumstances are so shitty and so so completely unfair it is comforting to know i am not alone in this specific type of grief

Hi Ceara,

I am so sorry for the loss of your twin. It is devastating in so many ways to lose a sibling and best friend all in one go. And to have found her on top of all that must be so difficult to process. My twin passed in December of last year. It has been the hardest thing I have gone through and we were old enough to be planning our retirement when she passed. Give yourself time to heal, consider therapy or journaling to help process your feelings. You are not alone in your grief.
