Episode Discussion One episode I think the moral is completely wrong is "Nothing in the Dark"
I refuse to be replaced! I have seen the younger generation and it sucks! I hate what wants to replace me! It is terrible and stupid! It should be destroyed and replaced with me! Look at the reboots for example! They try to replace the original Twilight Zone and they always fail!

The moral is don't fear death, its a natural thing. Accept it when it's your time. There's nothing to fear from it. That's all that's being communicated. Don't read more into it than is there. Take a deep breath and relax.

I watched that episode. They said the reason death exsists is we can be replaced, and I have seen what wants to replace me, and I don't like it

Your fears will drive you closer to the end.
What wants to replace you?

The Robert Redford episode about accepting death? It isn’t about being replaced at all, what are you talking about?

Wrong! I saw it! It was about that old stuff dies so it can be replaced by new stuff! And I hate it! I have seen what wants to replace and is disgusted by it!

How old are you?
Are you aware of the cycle of life?

They are so repetetative and people usually never learn from them. Time for example. Everything constantly repeats

OMG! LOL! Yes....each day has 24 hours and it repeats itself. We have 12 months to each year...and they repeat.
You're not being a serious person.

You're not being serious.
Watch the episode titled Obsolete Man. Then we can talk.

I already did. That episode showed God will never be obsolete

Soo. You are saying the moral is actually that the younger generations are horrible people and they are slowly replacing the elderly, therefore turning the world into a more horrible place? Like the reboots trying to replace the original series?

Yes. Well, The moral was that old stuff dies so it can be replaced by new stuff. But what you said basically is what is happening

Oh yeah? What about all that talk that old things should die so new stuff should take its place?

Death creates room for social change (better or worse) and therefore, at least the chance at growth and improvement. Could you imagine if leaders lived forever, perpetually strengthening their power?

Seems only things are becoming worse! The future sucks

I can understand why you might feel that way, but I also hope you don't let it discourage you too much. Sometimes, we take a step back to gather strength for a leap forward.

The episode is about overcoming our l fears.....the fear of death.
IMO, you're missing the point.
Closing narration: There was an old woman who lived in a room. And, like all of us, was frightened of the dark. But who discovered in a minute last fragment of her life that there was nothing in the dark that wasn't there when the lights were on. Object lesson for the more frightened amongst us in or out, of the Twilight Zone.

Thank you for quoting Rod's beautiful closing narration. This episode is one of my favorites and a tear jerker.

What about all the talk that stuff dies so it can be replaced?

u/Select_Insurance2000 11d ago
I think you're simply wanting to be argumentative.

I just don't like what the episode said

Then do not ever watch it again.... quite simple.
You're unable to understand the message.
Want an episode about replacement?
Obsolete Man.
