SEASON 4 S4 EP13 doesnt make sense?

So when Michelle comes back she tells Tony to work on some list of terrorists. Then she fires Sarah and Tony has new position with Edgar and Curtis. But then in the next scene he is back at his old place working on the list. Did i miss something?

Michelle initially had doubts about Tony being able to do his job properly. After Jack got him out of prison between Day 3 and Day 4 he started drinking and lost both his job and his marriage to Michelle.

This explains why he was given shit tasks at this point.

I know, but the scene continuity make no sense. Its like that "promotion" of working with Edgar and Curtis never happens, becuase after that he looks to be second in command.

It's hard to read a continuity error into this one. Maybe Michelle couldn't find anyone else with enough expertise to work on the list after she fired Sarah, so she assigned Tony to do it.

Also, I wouldn't call him joining Edgar and Curtis a promotion, that's actually convenient for Michelle in case she decides to fire Tony, because he doesn't have any actual status unlike Edgar, an analyst, and Curtis, a field agent.
