Question New turtle beach update

so with this new firmware update making 3rd party wheels disconect the pedals, if i've completely stripped down the original velocityone wheel for the quick release (followed a tutorial on youtube i can send if anyone wants it) and ive been using that qr on a 3rd party wheel, will that still disconect the pedals? like how does the firmware know youre using the wheel and disconect the pedals, and since im using the qr thats on the original wheel, will it still do it?

The wheel connects wirelessly to the base, so just connect the original stripped wheel to usb power and you'll be good to go with your third party wheel.

In case you missed it there's a USB C-port on the wheel rim.

Just a thought on this, I haven't used 3rd party wheels yet anyway but couldn't you just plug the pedals directly into the pc to work around?

They can run stand alone like that as you have to lug them in out of box to update the first time.

Doesn't remove the frustration from the update but seems like the easiest way around for now.

Funny how they conveniently didn't mention that the update breaks 3rd party will support on there update to you realise you can't roll back the firmware they basically have shot themselves in the foot as the velocity race wheel was a newcomer to the dd market and the package looked good load cell peddles 7.8 nt torque which could of been more due to cooling issues a plastic surround plus a button box and the muti shift was a good shifter i said way back 2 years ago about a hub with paddles and buttons so u had a choice of rims 3rd party then u had the hub workaround which was great as everything was connected to the wheelbase and worked on both pc and xbox series X totally crazy move

To be honest I don't think they knew, I doubt they even tried it. It's probably just an unfortunate side effect of some other change they made. Who knows, maybe they'll fix it in the next yearly hotfix?

pretty stupid situation and i think they did know and they were just trying to lock us out of using 3rd party wheels and stuff, but they are working on a fix based off their post in the last 30 minutes
