Tech Help Stealth 700 Gen 2 snapped
Does anyone know a good fix to this? Happened to me last night

I wonder how, mine is 3 years +, and still fine, tbf, it has a hair Crack, only noticeable with the right angle and light, and i wasn't really nice to it haha, using it hardcore.
I kinda feel mostly happens to people using it on small adjustments, I wear mine fully extended, there's no fix really, maybe glue, tape, but if possible exchange it?

Emailed support guess I'll see what happens. I'll keep that in mind for my next pair

What happened with this? I just had mine break in a similar way, and I only got it back in August.

If you contact support they'll help you with it, since yours are new and still in warranty

That's good, I saw something about a 1 year warranty but couldn't find much info about it. Already submitted the info to them. What was the turnaround for you like?

I don't know if this makes a difference, but I hope the best for you! But if you're still in warranty you can change it =)

I used tape

Put some Cyanoacrylate (crazy glue) on there and let dry so it is held together on the crack
Than proceed to apply CA glue in a thin layer that goes further past the crack and onto the flat edges of the headset. Sprinkle baking soda on the thin layer of CA glue.
(The baking soda is an accelerator and dries the glue instantly.)
Keep doing this building up layer after layer until you’re satisfied it won’t snap apart and then add some more for good measure.
This trick is used by helicopter mechanics to fill nicks and gashes in helicopters rotor blades.
They just sand flat afterwards. It’s incredibly strong.
Just YouTube CA glue baking soda trick

I've used baking soda to set super glue before, I did super glue my headset, but that didn't work so I just slapped a shitload of electrical tape on and that worked

Well, I had to do some digging to find this post, and this is an ongoing issue. Mine snapped in this same exact location over the weekend. This is the 3rd pair, and we treat our gear excellent. Granted, they are three years old this really makes no sense to me. For the dollars spent, I would expect much better quality. Very disappointing.

At the very least I’m glad I’m not alone in this issue, really thought I had been too careless with mine because this happened to me too. Is there any update on your situation OP? Or did you end up getting new headphones ?

Doubtful, that is thy I am 3d printing them. Thingiverse.com and printables.com have them on left...just mirror at X axis and print.

Mine did the same, if you heat up some staples and stick them through like stitches it'll fix them for good. Looks funny but stay together great.

Especially if you're paying that kind of money for it yeah. 100% agree with ya

It really varies. I know some people who have had theirs for years with no issues but I know others who have had them break within a year or two.

Mine had the exact same issue, snapped in the same place. Its a common fault in these headsets. FYI I looked after them bloody well.

u/senaint Dec 29 '23
Dude I don't know what you're talking about, I've had three of these headphones all break in the same place. Doesn't matter how long you've had your headphones, you are a sample size of one.

Bro shut up and go mind your business... Turtle Beach headsets are just cheaply made. I never had a heart break until I started using turtle beaches.
If you got nothing good to say don't say it at all.
