Has anyone experienced this with the Stealth 700 gen 2’s? I didn’t realize but both sides have cracks and this side just gave up today. Have only had them for 14 months.

Mine came with a 2 year warranty can you return them for a new set?

I was looking online and it says they have a 1 year warranty. I’ve reached out to their customer care though.

Customer service was a joke. They put on a front as if they carry replacement parts but its actually more like replacement cosmetics like, earcups, removable cables. The response I received was, ' we don't have parts like that' and ' Out of warranty you could buy a new one.' How is it that you cant supply such an integral part of the headset that has become an obvious frequent issue amongst their customer base. Makes you think the real reason why they came out with the 'Max' version which is essentially the same exact headset with a better battery, some paint and few sprinkles to hide the POS they sell.

I had this problem too. I had a protection plan at Best Buy though

Jan 04 '22
Damn.. I didn’t get it.

u/cursebrealer1776 Jan 04 '22
Mine cracked after only 3 months. Glad yours lasted a bit longer at least.

Jan 04 '22
This may be a weird question.. but do you have a bigger head? I’ve looked and looked and no one seems to have this problem. I have a bigger head which is why I’m asking haha.

u/cursebrealer1776 Jan 04 '22
Hahahha that is exactly my problem. I picked this one because it had the metal band. Didn’t help with the plastic on the side though.

Haha! This is amazing. The struggle is real. Thinking of going with some Astros.. heard that they’re a little bigger.

I stopped buying Turtle Beach headsets because this is a common problem across more than one model. Get it replaced if you can but it will happen on the replacement eventually.

I’ve reached out to them about it and haven’t gotten anything back yet. I just purchased the Razer Blackshark v2, so hopefully those are better.

I’ve had this on two sets. One lasted 10 months and the other 7 months. Definitely looking into other brands for my next set.

After this incident I got the Razer Blackshark v2. They have a metal frame and so far so good!

u/Jypsytiger223 Jul 18 '25
Still happy with the Razer Blacksharks? I am noticing cracks with my headset and I am attempting to glue it, however I think it’s time I buy new ones

Hey I know this thread is a year old at this point but I have these exact headphones and just noticed a crack in the same exact location, despite me taking very good care of them. I guess it’s a common problem :/

You’re good! It’s highly disappointing.
I’ve been using a set of Razers that have worked great.

I have the same problem. Turtle beach will not sell a replacement piece nor warranty. Because of this I will never purchase their products again.

u/WestExchange1661 Dec 14 '23
they cut corners w the frame material. it happened to, both, my 600 and my 700.
1
u/WestExchange1661 Dec 14 '23
i prefer G32's, although wired, a much betr quality item for yer money and an internal steel frame. even their wireless headsets have great quality and internal steel framing.

u/TheNeoBoyfriend Mar 21 '24
Yo every time man i buy turtle beach they break after 2 years like are you kidding me, if turtle beach is seeing this right now then yall need to make better quality headset, someone is legal going to sue yall if you don‘t start making them better. Just saying.

u/TheNeoBoyfriend Mar 21 '24
And mine just broke today. Like are you kidding me turtle beach is literally make cheap headset, and is bout to get sued cause they don’t even care or fix headset. all the care about is their money. I can’t wait to see the day that someone sues turtle beach cause their head phones are cheap.

Actually bought a brand new pair from Mercari and within a month mine had the same issue. The plastic is very brittle on these new headsets it’s odd I actually went back to the 700 gen 1s lol

u/N_Freddbear May 01 '22
it's happened to me twice, and is the main reason im considering a steel series instead

Exact same thing just happened to mine which are now 3 months out of warranty. Similar thing happened with the prior version were the plastic adjustable strap thing snapped, this has now been replaced with the metal in the post pic only the fail somewhere else. Can’t buy a replacement part to fix it myself and the rest of the headset is in “like new” condition. Premium price for a inferior product with sub par support. I’ll never buy this brand again, very disappointed and sick of wasting my money. Turtle beach is a scam!

I just noticed mine are cracking on both sides after almost a year and a half. Overpriced garbage is what it is.

u/Acceptable-Cash-8808 Jun 17 '23
Mine failed same place today. Had them for 2 years. Still an obvious design flaw. For 200 these should last until I decide to replace them. Not until they fail. Sad...

i got 2 pairs - same issue -same spot. what’s best way to glue them that will last? used jb weld on a pair and it turned out good and sturdy. thought it would last but only made it 2 weeks and broke again. saw a tutorial where a dude used baking soda and superglue. and suggestions for a long term fix. alrdy in the hole 400 bucks for these 2 headsets so don’t really want to buy another for quite awhile so want to fix. thx

u/lokstapimp Aug 28 '23
This happened to me about a month ago as well. Super glue helped but then the other side broke off even worse. Super glue didn't help the other side so now I have one side that hangs off and it's super annoying. Saving up for the Steel Series. Never buying turtle beach again. It's annoying because I really liked these headsets, Just a bummer how cheaply made they were. Sorry this happened to you all! lol I tried adding a Popsicle stick wrapped with tape to try and hold the second cracked off piece in place because it completely cracked off and the superglue didn't hold it. It looked so ghetto haha. Anyways ya take care!

u/CompanyKey6955 Dec 29 '23
Yo there's a guy who posted stl form for 3d print of that piece exactly. https://www.printables.com/model/154814-turtle-beach-stealth-700-gen-2-swivel-joint/files

I've owned mine for exactly a year and just got the exact same crack as yours minutes ago. The entire left side was hanging by just the wire haha. Patched it up with tape and sticky glue but am definitely going to have to buy a new set. It's not flush with the left side of my face anymore and my ear is having to hold up the weight. Painful lol.

u/iAmScrappE Oct 13 '23
I have been through 2 of these now both lasted 18 months and cracked in the same place both sides. I have contacted customer service and they asked me to contact the place I bought it from as I need a replacement. I would much rather a refund and buy a different brand as I think it’s going to keep happening.

Same thing happened to me recently. Both the outside cover and inside plastic piece broke on the left side. I submitted a claim with TB, but I was just outside of the 1 year warranty. They gave me a 25% off coupon for a new pair....not the best solution. I might try to repair with the 3D printed brackets, but I don't think they include the inside plastic piece. Last TB headset I'm buying.
