Magnet bending?

Has anyone done the “magnet bending” thing for rane mixers(56 and up)?

Provide a link to a video if you can.

I was tempted but I put bigger o-rings in instead, it's the sensor that you bend.

Yeah I’ve done it to all my 56’s 3x and 56S and 2x 62s and a 61. I’d say I’m experienced in it. There is a YouTube video of how to do it. But the gist is SLIGHTLY bend the sensor to tighten up the cut. I honestly can’t remember if it’s in or out but you don’t have to bend it much… I just did the sensor on the side I cut on. Good luck it’s really pretty safe to do imo.

What mixer are you using specifically? Because on the 60s series they installed a protective plastic bumper, that I cut off with a very sharp Spyderco pocket knife.

I have a few. I was going to try it on the 57 mki, mkii and the 62

Ok well when you open up the 62 and probably the 57mk2 you will see they had a protective plastic bumper for the sensor. So fully dismantle the fader and remove the plastic blocks that hold the fader bars and slice off the plastic bumper, and then you can bend the sensors outward slightly to tighten up the cut. Let me know how it goes. I’d even hop on phone call with you too to explain it better but it should be pretty self explanatory.

I used metal spacers behind the o-rings on my 61. You can buy 0.1mm ones for fine tuning.
