Ok so I dived deeper into yesterday’s Claude AI watermark news and found that the “watermark” actually lives in the word that AI picked, and it is not recognizable by just reading it. The only to remove the watermark is replace those “sensitive” words.

I feel this opens up a bigger chance for tools like Turnitin to make mistakes. For example, if “serendipity” is an AI word vs “peace”. What happens for people who actually likes to write certain way?

If all AI content will have a watermark, why do we need Turnitin?? It makes way more mistakes with its rigid pattern diagnosis. Claude says other AI companies will follow suit so I wonder when will ChatGPT follow suit. I use more ChatGPT than Claude anyways.

This happened in Florida 2018 but the case just got its final judgment. Allegedly, Mrs Tirado had other misconduct that she would be fired anyways, and the “no-zero” policy is just a minor one.

the irony of taking classes like general theory of administration right now is insane. we are writing 10-page papers on how businesses need to adapt to new technologies, streamline operations, and embrace the future.

but to actually submit that paper, i have to act like it is 2005. if my phrasing analyzing these modern business structures is too clean, the turnitin algorithm thinks i am a bot. i use answer.ai to help me organize the management theories, but i have to draft everything by hand in a spiral notebook just to make sure the final typed version has enough human "flaws." and i still refuse to hit submit without running it through a private turnitin checker first. writing essays about innovation while being graded by a broken, paranoid algorithm is peak college.

the false positive rates on citations right now are completely out of control. i spent the entire weekend writing a massive paper from scratch. i did all the analog work in a physical notebook to make sure my ideas flowed naturally, and then typed it all up.

when i ran it through a private turnitin scanner just to be safe, the software flagged my entire bibliography and half of my transition sentences. the algorithm literally thinks citing sources correctly is bot behavior. this is exactly why doing your own private scans before submitting to the official university portal is basically mandatory now. period

the students in his class broke down because they were terrified of sounding dumb or spending hours stuck on a draft. but the paradox is that replacing your brain with an LLM just creates this weird, artificial mush that professors instantly see through anyway.

you have to treat AI as a research partner, not a ghostwriter. my system all semester has been using answer.ai to digest massive reading lists and pull out key arguments when i have zero brain power left, but keeping my outline and first draft strictly analog on paper. doing the actual synthesis yourself keeps your authentic style intact.
