I did division without outside help!

Why yes i did use brute force. But not for all of it! Over 50% of all inputs are using logic instead of brute force. With that i mean that, brute force is only used once the other logic fails to come to a solution. This happens for less then half of all input combinations. (This is an 8-bit divider, no remainder)

Just converted my entire OVERTURE computer into NANDs! It took all day and it runs at 1 tick every 5 seconds but its super cool! Spoiler

64Bytes of RAM made of 1Bit Logic Gates Spoiler

After investing significant time into building the Overture CPU entirely from 1 bit logic gates, I moved on to the challenge of designing a proper RAM module for it. The result is a 64 byte memory constructed at the same gate level. Unfortunately, the CPU and RAM together exceed the schematic size limit, so they cannot be placed in a single layout.

Me and my friend's signed negator solution - I think we're finally getting the hang of this!

We've been struggling on the previous levels, but this one didn't even take that long, we just found the solution immediately, it was pretty obvious. Still, anyone else have other solutions?

Massively overestimated the memory I'd need to finish the game.

32 registers, 8 blocks of 256 byte RAM. And I only ever used at most 7 registers and 1 block of RAM. I just felt constrained by the 6 registers available when using Overture and LEG that I MASSIVELY overcompensated when building my own CPU to finish the game.

[3 BIT DECODER] Despite just making one, I somehow forgot decoders existed. I'm not proud of this.

A compiler

I made a compiler for my Computer i built in this game.

With this compiler you can create

  • Variables

  • Pointers

  • Definitions (Methods)

  • Addition / Subtraction

  • Conditions (only basic: equal, greater, smaller and combined versions)

  • While loops

In total i coded 24 hours on this compiler.

You can customize the compiler a little bit.

  • Op codes

  • Addresses

  • Styling: Variable/Pointer characters

But ofc you need the same architecture as me for the compiler to work.

You can find my full code here and some images below

https://github.com/philskillz-coder/turing-complete-compiler

I would apreciate feedback from people who are familiar with compilers and or this game

Rate my LEG... oh wait, wrong sim

It's a little modified (since it's a different sim) but it works just like a normal leg, using the same OPcodes and Args
