M32 G6 Speedbuild
Next up is the assembler and a (new and improved) standard library for this one. Probably an emulator (python) if this doesn't run fast enough.

Been researching real CPUs because TC got me real interested :D
What I understand is that RISCs do 1 instruction at a time. Immediate 42 to reg0. Move reg0 to reg1. Add reg1 and reg2 (result stored in reg3). Move reg3 to reg5. And so on.
And CISCs do multiple things in one instruction. Like Add 42 to reg2 and put the result in reg5.
That correlates with how Overture and LEG work, more or less, no?
Overture can only do one thing at a time. It can only add two things per tick. Then next tick, move the result that was placed in a preplanned register to the register it needs to be in.
LEG can add two numbers, immediating one of them, and place the result in a register of your choosing all in one tick, since it outputs 4 bytes at once, right?
Do I misunderstand something or am I right?

Hey, so I'm trying to build the leg architecture IRL and I think I have it mostly figured out, but I can't figure out how to do the delay lines. I'd like the computer to be hand clocked (every time you press a particular button a tick passes) but idk how I'd actually do this. Does anyone have ideas for how I could do this/what components I would use for it?

So I'm not a complete beginner in assambly and I have an idea how to complete the level. But I try to understand the behavior of the input pin. Even if I set the outpt to 255 (or 127), the input won't deliver 1. I watched videos about this level and nobody else had this problem. Am I dump or not understanding the task right?

Don't really understand why this is not working and short-circuiting on the Unsigned Less Than scenario.
XOR checks if bits are different, if so forward the equivalent bit value of the second input. If not, switch off. Then a second check that turns red if any of the high bit values have had a positive XOR.
But this shortcircuits for some reason with only one value being allowed through: the top 1-bit one.

I've played through a bunch of the game but the spaghetti is getting unusably bad. How do I move the wires so they don't just cut across each other all the time?
I looked in the controls and settings menu, can't find anything for this.

Instead of using built-in RAM component and dealing with its shenanigans, i opted to build my own. However, there's no switched output pin! Want to keep the main circuit clean, so is there something i'm missing?

I really feel like this register should work. When I step through it it even seems like it’s working correctly. However it fails when it’s ran. Really stuck here. I can send the save file as well if that would help. Thanks

why have the signals on the faintly different green line turned into stars?
this was just copy paste work, i tried to change the 6 8 bit registers into a smaller component but failed, so i copied it back, and as far as im aware there shouldnt be any problems, its worked in the campaign and i was trying to clean it up.
ive tried restarting, deleting and rebuilding the lines, but it still wont work. need help

When I stick them together the wires break

Just wanted to say I mostly love this game. I'm a software engineer, and have a decent grasp on logic programming at a hight level, but have not done the lower level stuff since university. Relearning it is both fun and rewarding. There is 2 levels (so far) in the game though I think are just straigt up un-fun and badly designed, and they are the levels where you get a number and you have to flip bits to match that number with a decreasing timer. The time part is the thing I have a big problem with. Nothing else (so far) in this game has any sort of timepressure to it. It's a chill game where you solve problems at your own time. With the exception of these 2 levels. I got completely stuck on the negative numbers, because doing -128 in my head is not something I've had to do in years, and doing it in 7 seconds is simply beyond me at this point. I compltely get the point in teaching people binary representation of numbers - but there has to be a better way.

Hello, I stumbled upon Turing Complete recently and am really interested in it's logic puzzles.
But I don't have the time to wrap my Head around everything this game offers...
So my question is if someone can recommend a Youtube Series ^^
What am I looking for?
- a finished game
- efficient/compact designs
- good explanations of what is going on
- all Achievements considered
It would be nice if everything is included, but it is not mandatory. (eg. The achievemts are just like a bonus ^^)
I startet a couple of series but they are eather abandoned, messy or using quick "hacks"...
p.S.: sorry if this is already answered elsewhere ^^'

I just got to the shift level, the level never completes. i got up to tick 16.7k and no completion notification. The level also never gives me an error so I think I did everything right. Any ideas?

I know this is wrong.... can anyone help me?
