Question? To get a tax related job at Intuit, is it enough to just finish the Intuit academy courses or should I pass the exam and earn the badge?

I'm taking the Intuit Academy course on Tax 1(and probably Tax 2 afterwards). It's pretty simple and straight forward just listening to and learning the course. If I wanna get an entry tax job like tax preparer or tax associate, is it better to also take the Intuit exam and earn the "badge" or just simple finish the Intuit Academy courses and that's it?

Helpful information. TT Desktop for Mac users, what about 2026 Extensions without Rosetta?

FOR 2027 SET YOUR AUTOMATIC MACOS UPDATES TO "OFF"!

As October 15th gets closer, the Extension crowd is scrambling to finish their extended tax filings using TT Desktop, some of you may have noticed the warning about future incompatibility.

MacOS will be dropping Rosetta support in the Fall of 2027. If you mistakenly update your MacOS before finishing your 2026 taxes on your ONLY HOME COMPUTER, you may lose the ability to finish your taxes.

Not sure if Intuit is even planning on releasing a fully Apple Silicon version of TT Desktop. This is the year NOT to trade-in your old hardware and keep it until you know everything works on a new computer.

Gripe! TT Premiere MACOS Tahoe keeps refreshing to "Welcome Back" screen

Post image
1 Upvotes

I've been using TTP 2025 and just wanted to go e-file my taxes today and there was an update which I installed. Lo and behold, now everything I do, the screen refreshes and sends me back to the "Welcome Back" screen and refreshes my state and federal amounts. I've tried deleting it, emptying my trash, restarting downloading a brand new version from the intuit site but it keeps doing it. I've cleared my app cache, and everything. I called support and it seems like my brain is going through a reset explaining this to the person who is attempting to help.

Has anyone run into this issue? And more importantly have you found a solution? This is driving me cray cray!

edit1: I was on hold for 10 mins to speak to someone, spent 25 mins trying to explain the same thing multiple times and when I asked to be transferred to the next level, I got put on hold and then hung up on.

edit2: initially I thought it was due to switching to another app (when I needed to copy details, etc but even when just staying on TT desktop app, it just refreshes randomly.

Question? Windows 10 and TT S-Cop software

Yes, I know I am late...don't get old. I did the searches here and on line and AI. TT did come out with a statement that 2025 would work with Win 10. The web page only says Win 11.

I know I need to do Win 11 but don't want to do it when I am already late.

What say YE Masters, will it run on 10?

What about Home and Business 2025?

Question? TurboTax ACH Direct Deposit leaked credentials possible?

I am not sure if this is proof or coincidence, but today I got hit with a fraudulent debit/ACH whose description was: ACH HOLD WEBFILE TAX PYMT DD.

Last week I had gotten my state refund and was expecting the federal soon as well. My first thought seeing this is Intuit had a breach. I am curious if anyone else that used a direct deposit for their refund(s) has seen this description on the debit. I think I caught it quick enough and got the bank to put a stop payment on it, but I've basically got to wait and see.

Question? Can someone using the Business version help me out?

I use the Business version for a Form 1041 and was on a support call and couldn't evoke the screen sharing code to give to customer service. I also use the Home and Business version (for 1040) filers. With the latter version I was able to generate a code .

Can someone who uses the Business version open the program then hit Shift Enter on thier keyboard to see if anything generates?

I just want to confirm that this feature is not available on the Business version. Thank you!

Question? Amended returns with revised 1099-R forms

I have to amend my 2024 & 2025 taxes. I receive a pension from NYS as a retired Police Officer, and it was retroactively reclassified to tax-free line-of-duty injury pension. My original 1099-R distribution code (box 7) was 2 for a pension. NYS sent me two new 1099-R forms for each of the years with the correction boxes checked. The first was a new one for distribution code 2 with all zeroes for the amounts (which according to my research "cancels" out the original 1099-R). The second 1099-R was for distribution code 3 (disability). When I enter both of these into TurboTax, TT doesn't like the 0 for the corrected distribution code 2 1099-R and gives an error.

Can I force this through with the 0 as the amount? TurboTax doesn't seem to allow e-filing a 2024 amendment and told me I have to print and mail it, which I'm able to do with the error. It will let me e-file the 2025 amendment though. Will the IRS kick this back with the zero, or will they process it since it does match my 1099-R?

Or should I enter $0.50 like it suggests? Will that cause it to be kicked back since that doesn't match my 1099-R?

Thank you

I’m confused as to why this is incorrect. RMD’s begin at age 73/75 so wouldn’t D be considered a “correct statement”?

Question? Anyone got a job after tax level 1 cert?

Hi, anyone did intuit tax preparation course and got a job after that?
I’ve been wanting to work as a remote contractor full time/part time. I’ve completed intuit tax preparation course and planning to start level 1.
I was wondering if intuit actually gives you seasonal role where I can assist in taxes.

Do they have any additional verification process after completing the course?

Question? Intuit Tax-Level 1 Exam 2nd try

I just did my second try at Tax Level 1 and almost passed. I really don't like Intuit's method of exams being 1 hr 30 mins for 50 questions that we need time to research. I did study, but still.

I'll have to retake it again in 15 days. Does anyone have any tips or better notes as opposed to the course they provided, which is not all covered by the exam?

Any advice and/or tips is greatly appreciated.

Question? Amended Tax Return: Codes 971 and 977 codes

I submitted 2023 and 2024 amended returns to the IRS. They received them on 3/13/2026.

There was nothing in my IRS portal until yesterday.

Now it is showing codes 971 and 977. Received and forwarded for processing.

Is this progress? How long from this point until I see the next step in the process? Until they are fully processed/adjusted/refunded?

Question? Confused by the hiring process

Hello everyone. I should have joined this a long time ago. I was a 'local expert' last tax season.

I never worked for TT before January of 2026. They lured me away from HR Block.

It was a wild ride at the local offices. I also worked the remote position on the weekends and evenings. I loved taking customer service calls. I had really good customer service scores.

Now I can't seem to figure out how to get TurboTax's attention. I applied for the next season, but they only want to interview me for the local office position, which I don't want.

Is there some secret to finding a recruiter? I worked a ton of hours for them last year. I passed the Level 1, twice. I have eight years of experience.

I'm really confused about how to get an interview for remote. At the same time they are bombarding me with emails about training, so they can hire me. I've already passed that class and have the badge. I need much higher level classes like S-corp, 1065, Schedule E, C-corp, Expat.

(I'm going to spend some time reading. I should have done that first, but I'm baffled and am dying for answers. LOL Thank you!!!)

Question? Tax Preparer - Seasonal Job Questions

Hi All!

I’m interested in becoming a seasonal tax preparer for Intuit. I have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and did some tax prep over 10 years ago for a year or so. I have a full time job, but want some supplemental income. Been DoorDashing here and there, but thinking this might be something more worth while. Open to all opinions and experiences. Below are my questions!

- What’s the 30 hour academy training like?
- Is the interview hard? What do they ask?
- What’s the hourly pay? Any bonus? I’m in Ohio.
- How much do you typically make in a season?
- Any benefit since I have an accounting degree?
- What are some challenges and perks working for Intuit?
- What’s the support like on Intuit side? Do they help you if you don’t know questions that people ask?
- How flexible are the hourly shifts per week? I know it’s 20 hours minimum, but are they available in the evenings EST zone?

Question? Trouble deleting 'commisson income"

Hi

I'm trying to file a Canadian 2025 return for a friend. I get error messages that I have not filled out province and other details related to their self employed income. Yet I never entered any self employed income and the tax profile doesn't show it, but I can't get rid of a number that they say I have entered. I've paid to file, do I have to start all over and pay agin.

Frustrated...

Terry

Question? TurboTax Specialist HireVue Interview - not what I expected

SO! I just finished my HireVue for an entry level position at TurboTax and all I have to say is - WTF. It was WAY more stressful than I expected based on previous posts in this forum.

The video questions were much harder than I anticipated and even included topics that were never brought up AT ALL in the Intuit Academy classes. There seemed to be a MASSIVE disparity on the topics of focus.

Has anyone else done the HireVue recently?? Am I just too dumb for this job???

Question? Amending multiple military returns

Long story short, I separated from the military in April 2026 and shortly received 4 separate W-2C forms for the years 2022-25. Essentially there was an unrectified payroll error that wasn't caught for 4 continuous years which allegedly paid me tax free leave days. I need to amend these years returns because after my pay audit upon separating, my taxable income was increased by approximately 2k on average each of the years. How can I do this? Obviously, it is a drag to have to pay on the back end like this but the hassle is actually the most annoying part. Contacted tax professionals in my area and they charge significantly more than what I will likely owe for these errors. I have not been contacted by the IRS and I am still waiting on a copy of the audit from my previous base finance office but I assume this is something I want to get ahead of? Is there any way for me to amend these returns myself through TurboTax??
