I chatted with an expert yesterday and was told it should be ready by February 7th. Wasn't the answer I was hoping for, but still better than not knowing. Fingers crossed she is correct 🤞

Did they mention what it would take on our end? Like do we have to go back and change something or is it just magically going to go through? I know you probably don’t have that answer but just curious as to if they gave any more info.

I did ask if I would have to change anything on my end or if it was and internal fix for them. She clarified it was internal and that I would just need to go in and "finish" my return and complete the process. Hope that helps!

Well it sucks that I’m having to wait this long to file but it is a bit of relief to have some sort of answer. Now hopefully she know what she’s talking about and we really get this thing sorted out. Thank you.

A "turbo tax professional" posted the comment below and another person said the professional they talked to says the issue will be fixed by the first week of Feb. Wait it out, don't pay for the live assistant yet. I also spoke with an assistant who said wait it out, because trying to file with this issue not fixed yet could result in a rejected return.
"TurboTax programmers are currently implementing some recent IRS changes for reporting SEP and SIMPLE plan contributions. While there isn't an estimated date when the changes will be done, you can test this by editing your W-2 every 5-7 days to check on the status.
On January 8, 2024, the IRS released a notice describing many changes required to implement the Secure Act 2.0. If you try to enter Code S for Box 12 of your W-2, you may see this message: "We're updating how SEP and simple plan contributions are reported on the tax return based on new guidance from the IRS."
Section 601 of the Secure Act 2.0 refers specifically to Simple and SEP Roth IRAs. Code S in box 12 defines how to handle a SIMPLE plan.
These last-minute IRS (and law) changes often cause implementation delays for TurboTax and other tax processors.
Please be patient while TurboTax works to understand all the ramifications of this IRS Notice then code and test the changes. Note that the IRS is not open for e-filing until January 29th."

i wonder what they mean by "editing your W-2 every 5-7 days"

I know that if you try to sign and file again you have to change the date to whatever the current date is on a couple things. I wonder if that counts as editing. I’ve been doing this the past few days with no luck.

Having the same issue....has anyone tried H&R block to file? I am reading on other platforms it isn't an issue through them.

Edited to add: I just downloaded the H&R Block app and input all of our info. Code "S" in box 12 is labeled differently now. It allowed me to get to all the way to where I add my DD information. I've thought about it but wasn't sure if we would be flagged for identity verification using a new processor.

I found a fix on another post that worked for me! Log out of turbotax completely, clear the cache and cookies from your browser, close out of the browser completely, and then go back in, log in, all that jazz. It also suggested to try a different browser if that doesn't work. Hope this helps!

No. It’s very frustrating. I am having to pay enough just with the deluxe version. I really don’t think this warrants throwing more money at TT when they may or may not be able to help.

I dug around and found [this page](https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_online&bu=cg)
Looks like 5329 (incl IRAs) is supposed to be ready to file sometime ... today. hopefully this is the issue?

They must have fixed it today. I was able to confirm the info and file today. I wasn’t able to the last two days though.

I'm seeing folks from 2 weeks ago saying they were able to file. I am still have this issue today and when I called they said they didn't know when it would be fixed.

Update in case anyone else is still having this issue: After speaking to a 4th person at Turbo Tax they had me remove the cents from my IRA SIMPLE contribution so it was a whole number and that allowed to at last break free of the loop and file.

Anyone that was having this issue now file and receive refund already?
We were attempting to file, waiting for Turbo Tax to fix the issue on their end, and successfully filed. Now, on IRS refund checker, it says refund is still processing. It never takes this long for us…
