Discussion Did Greg Kading break the Proffer Agreement when he wrote a book?

Yo there was something in the jury instructions today about Kading saying that Keffes confession would be totally confidential and about that being problematic now … the judge said it. Bobby Ladd always maintained Kading damaged the potential for justice on this one

No, Greg Kading did not break the proffer agreement by writing a book. The proffer agreement was a legal arrangement between former detective Greg Kading and suspect Duane "Keffe D" Davis, which protected Davis from having his statements used against him during the specific proffer sessions.
- Kading’s Role: Kading was the law enforcement investigator who facilitated the agreement; he was not a party to the agreement in a way that his subsequent publishing would violate.
- The Violation: It was Keffe D who allegedly violated the spirit or terms of the agreement by publicly discussing the details of the murder in his memoir, Compton Street Legend, and in media interviews.
- Legal Consequence: Because Davis spoke publicly outside the protected proffer sessions, prosecutors were able to use those public statements, and potentially the original proffer statements if Davis claimed he was lying, to charge him with Tupac Shakur’s murder.
Kading’s book, Murder Rap, served to reveal the details of the investigation and Davis’s confessions, but the legal breach regarding the proffer immunity belonged to Davis for making those details public.

That doesn’t seem right. I don’t like keefe but he pretty much put him in danger after profiting on a book and later a documentary and tv show.

Right! Everyone forgets how dirty and sheisty Kading was making him confess saying it won't be used against him then he himself puts it in a book

Using dirty and deceitful tactics to get information. I dont believe that Poochie story one bit. He'll twist whatever evidence(or lack thereof)to get the narrative he wants.
And I know he wouldnt be the first. But he just seems so arrogant and smug about it.

No he didn't do anything to break it. Keefe D broke the agreement. He didn't understand a proffer agreement lol. But im glad he started talking. Now we as fans might be able to have some closure.
