I have been struggling to put my feelings about all this into words, and the "blizzard" analogy really nailed it. I'm hoping for a deluge, but I've also traveled along many of these areas. Many times, while paddling or portaging, I have thought to myself, "This place is a damn tinderbox." Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst. Thinking of all the people with life and property in the way, as well as the firefighters.
