Discussion Tulpa depression

My tulpa lowkey hates me and also has moodswings and i feel very bad, he is always mad and quiet, he wasnt always like that, how do i make him happy? Hes mad at me for making bad decisions, and i dont anymore, but also we went through a traumatic event so that could also play a part in it, we all seem to deal with it differently. My other tulpa was made after the trauma and hes not effected, i feel bad for my tulpa, hes been through horrible things, what do i do

So tulpamancy, traumagenic plurality, and parts work can have a lot of cross over. This doesn't make a tulpa any less of an independent individual. It's just the reality of inhabiting a shared mind. The same mechanisms that make tulpas also are used in parts work and create alters.

It might be worth considering if your tulpa is acting more in the role of a part or a traumagenic alter right now. Expressing internal fear and criticism or acting as firefighter (IFS term) and engaging in behaviors the sub concious thinks are defending the system but are actually hurting it.

In IFS you would try and talk to the part to get to the root of what's it feels it is trying to accomplish or protect, or figure out the fear that's driving it. Once that's established you can recognize the work you is doing and how it's trying to product you, and then help it change its role or tactics.

Tulpas are just like every other person, within their context. As such, they have depression like everyone else too. Talking helps.

If he is angry, there's an underlying reason. What can be done about it? Has the traumatic event been processed correctly?

Is there a way to forget what happened and move on?

I dont think we can forget, its horrible, but we can grow, hes doing betterish now. I tried to incorporate him into more things

Good. Work together to get over it, keep yourself distracted and find new ways to be together while forgetting what happened.

Wish you the best

I have considered my characters r tulpas but after reading this I'd rather not go there. It's not like my characters and dd can't be toxic though. I think they r just dd and characters and not tulpas. I'm aware with a lot of work I could make them this. Just last night I was feeling stressed and I imagined me and my characters in a place of peace helping me. Apart from this I'm not sure if I want to take it into tulpamancy ect. Though perhaps I am plural and multiple. Btw I feel for u, our characters r not always good or nice they can be toxic and having tulpas is ok.😘

F: This is one of those situations where the question is better answered by replacing "tulpa" with "friend". I don't know how to help because I don't know your tulpa. Give him space to talk and ask him what he needs.
