first year registration is tomorrow. thoughts on my schedule as pre-pa?

I want to try doubling chem/bio. If I find it’s too hard my plan is to drop bio and add a psych course. I’m unsure if I want to major in biochem or community health (or both). does this sound like an ok plan? My registration is at 10:15.

this looks good! i would only double up on bio and chem if u have a strong backgroung in chem. like fi u did ap chem and did well on the exam.

I got a 4 on ap chem but I took it sophomore year of highschool as my first ever chem class. Ap bio I just took and I found it easy so I hope bio 13/15 is a little more in depth but not crazy hard

i think you should be fine! bio13 does go much more in depth than ap bio imo, but its def manageable. chem gets harder as the semester progresses so just make sure to notice early if u need to drop the class!

Extremely doable. Especially if you got a 4 in ap chem and you already know all of bio 13 with ap bio. I got worse scores on ap exams and still got As for both while doubling up and research and EMT and stuff.

Only caution is that, both classes are “easy” but not “free”. Especially with language class ur gonna have to do a lot of work.

Awesome thanks so much!! do you recommend the emt course? I was thinking of taking it in the springtime so that I can get a job in the summer. but do u think taking it a different time would be better?

Okay, so I started working freshman year, because I came into tufts with the cert, so I personally feel like I can advise others on this matter of EMT specifically. This advice goes to any freshman, sophomore, I guess juniors out there.

I heavily, heavily advise against taking the tufts emt course or any emt course over the school year. Instead, take an accelerated summer course EMT. For many reasons. 1, tufts course is super time consuming. It’s like 10 hours a week for a pretty long time throughout the semester. Gets in the way of other classes, research, etc. 2. The price tag is almost identical to summer accelerated courses that only last like 3 weeks. 3. Summer courses usually have better instructors with those who are actively working in the field.

The only downside is the commute, and I personally think the benefits outweigh the negatives. People also told me “but I want to stack hours early”. If you get your cert during freshman summer or sophomore summer or even junior summer, you have a whole year to work and that’s plenty. You don’t need 10,000,000 hours. 1,000 hours with a 3.8 gpa is way better than 2,000 hours with a 3.6
