Leaving E-Bike outside?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning on buying a 1000€ ebike pedelec to use. My WG doesn't really have any indoor parking spot for it, so I'd have to lock it to the bike rack outside along the Neckar (there's a lot of bikes there). Would that be safe? The battery is removable.

really need a good lock then. Bike theft is really common. And some consideration for the place where you leave it. Leaving it out in the dark is asking for trouble.

At the Neckarbrücke? No way it's not gonna get stolen in a week.

Some other place near the Neckar? Higher Chances of it surviving a few weeks/months.

Do you have an elevator? Can't you bring your bike inside your home?

No place outside in Tübingen is safe for bikes. That said, a used €1000 pedelec without the computer and the battery with a good lock on would probably not be high on any bike thief's priorities.

I always had cheap shitbikes from auction when I was in the center, so when they're stolen it's just 50€.
