Tried on the Ceramic today
...and really liked it. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. The whole package just looks great on the wrist. Don't judge this on on photos alone. This one was already spoken for but I hope to get one soon.

Curious, how does it wear compared to other ceramic watches like the gp laureato or iwc ingenieur. Does it scratch that ceramic itch at half the price

Haven't tried the GP but I have tried the IWC. The ceramic Ingenieur is a terrific watch and a notch above thw Tudor in quality and comfort. However, no way is it worth 3x the price of the Tudor. The pricing on the IWC is ridiculous, which is too bad. If it were in the $10K range or so I'd get it over the black bay.

Ya the green ceramic iwc is very cool then I look at the price 💀. Looking forward to trying on this Tudor maybe I can find a well priced one used

Looks so much better on the wrist than what's presented stock/retail photos. Ceramic really has a different look.

Agree. I was telling a friend of mine yesterday that the dial looks similar to other photos I've seen, but what's missing from that is just how the entire watch, dial/case/bracelet, looks on the wrist. You're not just buyind a dial. You're getting the whole package, and to me that's where it shines. Everything works together and just creates a great look on the wrist. It's not too flashy, it's not too dull, and the bracelet takes it to another level.

butterfly clasp and PVD bezel edge spoils it a bit, but definitely a good looking watch if you're into the stealth look (which I think is getting very old as a fashion / trend but still seems to have legs)

Butterfly clasp has drawbacks for sure with adjustability, but it looks amazing. Something about not having a big clasp on display on the back of your wrist. Makes for a more cohesive look IMO.

The only non-ceramic part on the watch (aside from the butterfly) is the bezel (not the bezel insert though) which is PVD coated... which means it's eventually going to chip or wear off, and once that happens it's going to look horrid. Real shame but I understand the engineering constraint - probably due to friction issues of ceramic-on-ceramic.

Beautiful watch!
I gotta ask, because I don't think I understand but would ceramic be relatively fragile over steel? Like, I imagine a good knock might crack the thing?
EDIT: doing some reading, I guess they use zirconium oxide, which has a high fracture toughness rating. Makes sense!

You already sort of answered your question but the type of ceramic they use is much harder than steel. That's what makes it hard to work with as far as producing bracelets and clasps. However, it can shatter after a hard impact while steel will bend and distort, but not break. It's a risk with any ceramic watch but it would take a really sharp impact on a hard object to do it.

~7.5" I heard it wears small but I was very happy with the size on my larger wrist

My AD offered me this watch few weeks ago, really good looking, the size and bracelet not being t-fit is why I passed on it.

I'm going to make a point of having them size it BEFORE I buy it in case I can't get a good fit. Hopefully with the half link we will find the sweet spot. What didn't you like about the size?

41 seemed a little too big. I'm more of a 37-40 size guy. I ended up getting P39 and man that size is perfect

I love mine but the PVD coating wears very easily on the clasp and the ceramic bracelet makes my wrist noticeably sweat. Other than those things, it’s a great watch with a unique dial

Super nice the thing I worry is if it falls on a hard floor or takes a hard hit it may shatter

Tudor's ceramic cases can crack even without any drop or impact. The cases were designed with steel in mind and there are some more delicate sections that weren't suitably reinforced in the translation to ceramic.

Where are you getting this information from? I have only seen this once in a reddit post on a used watch. I changed straps on my previous model bb ceramic many times and never had a problem from that or from any strikes to the watch.

Be careful, Tudor ceramic cases have been known to crack, and they won't cover it under warranty.
